I think i've heard somewhere about a Haunted House that will pay you (or give you your money back) if you make it all the way to the end. Has anyone heard of this and know which one/where it is?We're thinking it's in Guilford or Alamance county area somehwere but could be wrong.Or, if you don't know which one we're talking about, do you know of any good haunted houses/forests within 30-40 miles of Burlington?]

I'm from Burlington and always heard about this The Haunted Hospital? I think...never could find anyone who actually knew anything about it though. I think its just a rumor.

This makes me wonder what kind of hurdles you would have to get over to create something like this.the first one that comes to mind is making it profitable. You'd have to have a big ass property (warehouse, home, or building), cheap but very scary tactics (not just guys screaming "boo" with a fake chainsaw), a high entrance fee (because i would assume that the majority of people would make it through on principle.) some way that would make the house difficult to pass through (like a maze or secretdoor system that could be easily changed so you couldn't lookup a map on the internet), a waiver system so that people dont file suit in case of injury or mental trauma, an easy way to surrender at any point, etc.I think it'd be pretty fucking tough to do. especially since each run could only be a few people at a time and last (possibly) hours. you'd also have to have some time to reset everything each time, or each couple times, to give actors a break and make sure there isn't a trail from the previous people. that alone would make profit margins suck.[Edited on October 22, 2007 at 2:09 PM. Reason : and you couldn't give the whole entrance fee back. i think it would make the margins too unstable]

anyone else got thoughts on this?

i could see a maze where if you get through in time you get money back, or get through successfully (traps and such, or actors who would mark you with a paintball gun such that you are marked as dead).

I checked the netherworld site and didn't see anything about getting money back.

it would be tough to legally do it without posing harm to the people.

can't you just basically sign their safety away upon entering?
