The other day I asked the DHL delivery guy what "DHL" stood for. He said "I dunno, I think some people's last names or something."

The company was founded in 1969 by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom, and Robert Lynn.

i was reading a website last night (was bored, had no laptop) about how DHL is the mafia and blah blah and all the offices are franchised out to IOs(independent operators)http://b12partners.net/mt/archives/2004/10/dhl_sucks.htmlhttp://www.exdhl.com/ive also worked in an office with a UPS freight sticker machine that plugged into one of the ports on the computer and allowed the workers to ship whatever with virtually 100% anonymity (to the company, from where i stood). that company HATED DHL. i've only been with 2 that allow you to use "whatever" method you want, and have varying accounts with the couriers.maybe im the only one thats heard DHL sucks, but i just wanted to report an A++ experience, and I will use them next time I ebay something off or whatnot. THE GUY CAME TO GET IT 10 MIN AFTER I CALLED THE NUMBER!!!1

Your one transaction is proof that DHL Rulez #1!Actually, they're fucking terrible. Congrats on getting lucky.

Fuck DHL. They are not allowed on our property any longer.A few years ago they delivered a few thousand dollars in photographs, a daily occurrence, and were stupid enough to walk UNDER the house, right past a sign and table marked with 18" tall letters saying FREIGHT, and up to the uncovered porch, and left it all sitting out in the rain. We called up the local supervisor, bitched them out, and then they even had the nerve to say the driver has plastic bags to put packages in if they do need to be left in the rain, which weren't used. To top it all off, they did the exact same thing the next day.Other adventures in DHL shenanigans include doing 15 point turns in the driveway to avoid backing out, and driving way off the driveway and running over countless low voltage lights, putting holes in boxes, driving into trees, and just basically being incompetent. FedEx and UPS don't seem to have any problems with making deliveries, just DHL.

Your story is proof that DHL is the worst.Actually, they're the best courier I've dealt with. Sorry you got unlucky.

The worst thing about DHL (and by my estimation, the only reason they're still in business) is that since UPS and FedEx are international corporations, all of the other countries' domestic couriers ditch their packages to DHL when they cross the border. No one ever has any problems with CanPar/Purolator in Canada, but once the packages get in the hands of DHL in the US, they go missing or get ripped in half. I've had two goalie gloves go missing thanks to DHL.

I've shipped about 15 things through DHL over a couple of weeks when I was doing a lot of eBay selling. Most of the packages were conveniently mis-measured so that they would be "oversized" costing me over twice as much ($42 items cost over $90.) Their customer service was terrible in getting it fixed. I had several customers complain of shredded boxes and damaged goods. FUCK DHL.

one of the dhl delivery guys here is the most uppity arrogant Jamaican wannabe i have ever seen...5'7" 120max, black guy with a attitude, never smiles, only talks to a few of the black women that work here at all beyond what is absolutely necessary, rings the goddamn buzzer to be let in every 10 seconds, sorry I have better things to do than stand by the door for your dreadlock wrapped in a odd looking yellow red and green tube top while you waltz through our building with your XXXL dhl shirt that covers up your fucking knees...the other 3 are nice... and all the other guys at all the other shipping places, fedex, ups, etc are all much much better than this tard[Edited on October 12, 2007 at 2:13 PM.
