and I had multiple crazy ass curveballs thrown at me by life earlier this summer at one time that made me do a lot of things differently and had to start going out and doing new things at new places

no biggie, didn't let it kill me(came close)... I did new things, met new people and adapted

well with that, I ended up with the fishing gig I have now, in addition to the other things I do already which is awesome in my eyes

and now I have an offer coming to me that may completely change everything forever for me...

within the next year, my friend's dad is opening a resort in Panama...

we were eating dinner and discussing stuff, this resort thing came up, which I already knew about, they had insinuated that they wanted me to be a part of it but I wasn't gonna ask and sound like I'm begging... I was just like, "damn, that sounds like it should be a good time", they looked at me and were like, "come on, you're going to do this with us too" which I was shocked by because I didn't think they'd really want me to be a part of it

anyway, they are flying me and another captain/friend (I say "another captain" because now I'm getting my 100 ton Captain's license) down on their jet to check things out and stuff...

I'm basically going to be able to live the life of my dreams and get paid well for it... I never could have imagined this a year ago... I assumed if I was going to do that, I'd have to pay for it... not get paid for it and have it be my job

well, I planned on doing it here in NC when I was retired and had stuff taken care of, but not now

I'm pretty excited and I have no idea what to expect, this is completely life changing shit here

it's just really funny how things work out

I do love this state and never wanted to leave here really, but I just don't see how I can say no to this... it's not like I won't come back, this state fuckin rocks

should I stay here in NC and just hope to do this when I'm old or should I already be packing my bags?

Maybe it's just because I don't seem to LOVE North Carolina as much as you, but I would have my bags packed already for Panama!!! This is an awesome opportunity, and waiting to do things (like travel) when you're older can reduce the chances on actually doing them. I would do it now, while you're young!

it will suck at a resort though, because most women there are either married, soon to be married, or too damn young anyway (straight out of the mouth of the other captain that has already ran a 56' yacht for a resort for 5 years already)

it is kinda weird, I guess if me and old girl I almost married had worked out it would be a cool thing for us to do, be settled, raise a kid there for a few years, then come back here and live at the beach and do the same thing... but if we had still been together, I would not have had this chance or even the fishing gig I do now ANYWAY I'm much happier with that crazy whore out of my life

I used to want to get married ona beach, but I saw like 10 beach weddings this past summer in only 2 days at Myrtle Beach, right on the public access down the road from the beach house. They were entirely too rinky-dink and thrown together. Not a single one lasted more than 10 mins. If I did get married on the beach, it would have to be a bigger deal. Not a huge deal, I don't want a huge wedding, but I don't want a cheap, crappy wedding.
