So let me get this straightYou want someone to give you (someone they don't even know) a vehicle to drive halfway across the country in for nothing in return other than a little gas?
10/10/2007 4:49:53 PM

10/10/2007 5:00:15 PM
negativethe university charges $0.39
10/10/2007 5:15:27 PM
well then it looks like youve got yourself a plan
10/10/2007 5:16:56 PM
refer to the first post
10/10/2007 5:38:10 PM
If it's a 1500 mile trip that would be $585. That's less than $100/person. I'd say that is about as straight as you're going to find.
10/10/2007 5:56:54 PM
Can't you get one through Enterprise or something?
10/10/2007 6:07:52 PM
^^^ i dont see anyone else willing to lend you a van for $50 bucksreally you have to be out of your god damn mind to expect that
10/10/2007 6:26:07 PM
not reallythere are nice people in the world that wouldnt mind doing this--I am assuming you aren't one of them.besides one act of random kindness....you know the rest.you never know, but i guess you never will...but thanks for pointing out the flaws in my plan here.already had a car to be offered(thanks so much), but need something larger...anyone?
10/10/2007 6:33:27 PM
^^^yeah, he could check the rental companies but in my experience they're not going to be any cheaper. i just rented a mini van a few weeks ago for a bachelor party trip it was ~$600 for 5 days by the time you factored in taxes, insurance, etc. expect to spend an additional $100 dollars on top of the online or phone quotes you might get, they don't usually include taxes/insurance.^i hope you understand you're asking for A LOT. i have no problem loaning anything i own to my friends, but someone i don't even know is a different story. it's a huge risk for someone to take, and you're offering basically shit for compensation. you're asking us to trust not one random person, but how many other people that would be riding in it? at the least, just the absolute minimal wear/tear a vehicle would get on a trip that far isn't worth a tank of gas.all that said, i've got a bus i might be willing to rent out. i might could beat the van price, but i'm sure as hell not letting it go for a tank of gas (which is $150, not $50). i would also need some assurances that you would pay for anything that might break or get messed up (within reason), you're capable of driving something that size, you're a legal and insured driver, etc...
10/10/2007 6:52:52 PM
and yea i understand the liability.with great reward comes great responsibility i am aware of that.just looking something that may work you never know, might as well ask because you never know it could work out if it doesnt there are backup optionsi may check into the bus though...that may be an idea.
10/10/2007 6:57:28 PM
basically what ivan is saying is he would have a contract drawn up and you would sign it, in blood.
10/10/2007 7:33:45 PM
agreed. what if u were to wreck it? or just dog on it and it doesnt come back in the condition it was previously 'oh yeah dawg it did that b4 u gave it to me' there's a reason there are rental car companies. this thread is retarded. are u XXXXXX?[Edited on October 10, 2007 at 7:40 PM. Reason : .]

i realize thatand im sure you do great things, just offering the chance for someone else toand i realize the liability risk, dont get me wrong...as much as I lend out my stuff to people and all...yea.but just checkin to see, like i said you never know.
10/10/2007 9:49:21 PM
here's an idea. Take two cars.
10/10/2007 10:37:39 PM
lol at this thread.
10/10/2007 10:53:48 PM
here's an idea JT3bucky needs to stop being a needy niglet, take his manpon off and rent his own damn van. u aint gonna get no hand me outs here.[Edited on October 10, 2007 at 11:23 PM. Reason : ,]

good luck buddy but i dont see ithappinin here
10/11/2007 12:13:46 AM
heh- a good car wash & a full tank of gas upon return is nothing compared to the cost of the wear due to a long trip like that. You have got to be out of your mind. Preventative maintenance before & after, and just the sheer mileage added... hahaha. LOL @ this thread.
10/11/2007 10:53:55 AM
^^ why not help him like u help people u dont know who get their wallet stolen? how considerate u are u fuckstick...
10/11/2007 11:38:03 AM
^^ I guessing you drive a Jag? 1. A 1200 mile trip shouldnt be anything for most cars2. What preventive maintance would need to done at 1200mi intervals?
10/11/2007 1:14:21 PM
totally diffrent situation dummy. if i did have a van ,,,,,,, make room for one more nigg and each pays 45 bux. cause im drivin
10/11/2007 1:18:57 PM
^^
10/11/2007 1:25:39 PM
I did thanks, but i do know john... and im goin on the trip
10/11/2007 1:33:59 PM
if you have two cars you can take, do that. you'll be cash ahead doing it. even taking one of your cars, and renting another car would be better. trust me, i've hashed through this numerous times for various road trips over the years. the only advantage to renting a van is the convenience of riding together.have you tried craigslist? while i still wouldn't expect anyone to do this for a tank of gas, but it's the sort of thing that might get some response there. hell, BUY a van from there then sell it. i've seen a few for less than $1k over the past couple of months.
10/11/2007 1:44:04 PM
yea see im glad people can reason this out.we will be driving more than one car, the reason we wanted a van is that everyone would be together and it would be a little less cost per person basically. Just trying to help everyones wallet out.and yea i realize wear and tear may come into play but as mentioned 1200 miles really isnt terrible on a vehicle. thanks ram and everyone for the help though through PMs and mess. I would try buyin the van deal but I had to sell one awhile back and vans dont sell very well unfortunately so i will pass.
10/11/2007 2:15:07 PM
^ obviously you haven't tried to sell one to a mexicanyou are an ignorant fuck if you think some one is going to lend you a vehicle that doesn't know you. the last plan this stupid i heard was hillary clinton running for president.
