Quote :
"Raleigh — Campbell University's Board of Trustees on Wednesday voted to move its law school to Raleigh, sources told WRAL.

Sources also said that Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker will make the announcement at a news conference on Thursday.

According to a news release issued by the city, an announcement, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the State Capitol grounds, is "of educational and economic significance" to the city.

Campbell University President Jerry M. Wallace, law school Dean Melissa A. Essary and other faculty members were downtown Wednesday afternoon, having their photo taken in front of an office building at 225 Hillsborough St.

They declined to comment on the matter.

"What will be said tomorrow will be interesting news to everybody," Wallace said.

Tenants of the building, called Hillsborough Place, said they were notified Wednesday that it will be sold to Campbell by early next year.

Campbell administrators have said that moving the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and its approximately 350 students to the state capital would give students more access to lawyers and judges and to internships."

Yeah, this is a great idea. I thought Campbell was the school who shied away from "big-time firms" and whose creed was to focus on developing small-town lawyers and solo-practitioners. Honestly, it might help the top 10% of the class in getting those jobs, but I can't really see how it benefits anyone else in terms of securing jobs in Raleigh. Besides, if you have the grades you would get those jobs anyway. Can you say proxy?

Yeah, it's a good idea, but they shouldn't make people think that the main reason they are moving is to give the students better access to internships, etc. That is a joke.
