For those that are interested, I am hosting a Smash Tournament in the BAR. It's going down on October 20 between 1PM and 6PM.This is a single elimination tournament. Each match is best 2 out of 3 with the final match being best 3 out of 5. You can pick any character you want, and you will be able to decide your own stages. Not all of them will be available, and I will have a list of the stages you can choose within a few days. There are no items, no handicaps, and no wobbling. If you don't know what wobbling is then don't worry about it.The entry fee is a simple $1 and the top three places will earn the prize with 3rd getting his/her dollar back.I'm sure there are other things that I'm forgetting to say, so if you have questions you can post here, PM me, IM me or my friend(ironpham and messiahmack86), or email me or my friend. My email is mdpham@gmail.com and my friend's is maarmwoo@ncsu.edu.

Man I miss those days of smash tournaments in the BAR. I am yet to find a person in the whole state of Alabama that can match me in Smash.

Are those of us who are no longer students at NCSU allowed to participate? I remember at previous tourneys that anyone was allowed to participate (as noted by the UNC guys that came one year) but I just wanted to check.

Anyone can participate!

Good... it's time for Falco to throw down I played one several years back. At the time I didn't own a Gamecube or even know someone that did. All my experience came from the N64 version. Still, I got a good draw and made it to the final 4 with Fox before getting shelled by the eventual winner. Falco is my new favorite since his drill kick is downright beastly.^^ If we've got UNC participants I'm more than happy to show them a quick exit [Edited on October 8, 2007 at 12:24 PM. Reason : af]

yep, that's the one exploit that hardcore smash guys prohibit. all the other ones are 'required skills'

Haha I remember when those two dudes from UNC came and played on a team. All they did was try to hit people with Jigglypuff's instant knockout and the roll thing.

^Unfortunately, they did make it pretty far (quarter finals I think). I can't remember who took them out, though.Sounds like we may get some decent competition this time. I'm hoping my Gannondorf is up to bar despite the fact that I haven't been playing much. Got me pretty far in all the other tournys, though.

10/9/2007 9:15:35 AM
^when is it not?

They were taken out in the round before me and my teammate were taken out. I remember being disappointed because I wanted to play against them.
10/9/2007 3:16:27 PM
What group were you in that tournament?
10/9/2007 4:59:34 PM
We didn't have a team name or anything, I was playing as Link and my teammate was either playing as Ganandorf or Peach.
10/9/2007 5:16:36 PM
There is a facebook group for this now. You can join if you want to see who else will be there, but it isn't required.Sorry I didn't add a team competition to this. If I had known it would have been popular, I might've asked for more time at the BAR.Also, feel free to bring as many of your friends from anywhere. And tell those kids at UNC about it so we can take their money too.
