YOU BETTER BE DAMN SURE TO LEAVE A NAME. I turned my phone off this morning. I got a message of "hey, it's me (no shit). Just calling to see where you are."The voice could either be my uncle, a guy I sail with, or this dude who's been mixing my number up with someone else's. My uncle would say his name FIRST thing, I wouldn't mind crewing for the sailing dude again (but, he knows I can't for the next month), and the last would just be a testament to how dumb this fucker is.

yeah they must expect your phone to be on with a missed call that lists them on caller ID...which doesnt always happen

It's worse when you know it's not for you and it's something important like, "I really need you to pick up Billy from preschool today ..."

If I get a voicemail that sounds kind of important for a wrong number, I'll generally make an effort to call them back and let them know they got the wrong number...course if they're long distance, fuck that, thats not my problem

With cingular you can check envelope info and it will tell you the number and sometimes the name of the progenitor of the voicemail.
