pwnt is in ft. lauderdale... not exactly close though. i might be going to the tallahassee area within the next couple of weeks to get an rv i'm looking at, and that wouldn't be too far off my path. i'll let you know.

yeah, i was thinking about Ed...couldn't remember for sure where he lived.man, I hate to get rid of my Evo...for annihilating a twisty road, it's probably the most capable thing I've ever driven...and I feel almost guilty for not having taking advantage of its insane tuneability (high 11s for $1000ish worth of bolt ons)but I could get another retarded fast Miata (which has the attraction of being 1000 lbs lighter and more nimble feeling, as well as being a convertible)AND a nice 4x4 to take skiing or 4-wheeling and to have a backseat for my daughter, and a trailer hitch for any boats or jetskis in the future...AND an SV-650 to get myself back into the 2-wheeled grooveAND still come out $10,000 cheaper...and as much as I love my Evo, I just have a hard time justifying keeping it.[Edited on October 1, 2007 at 1:30 AM. yeah, personally that's what i do. having several cars dedicated to different purposes has always been the most enjoyable to me. usually, when you try to cover numerous bases with one vehicle you just get something that might be capable of doing several things, but none of them really well.

Evo is a fucking awesome performance machine, can haul around plenty of stuff, has a backseat for Hannah, has AWD (with front AND rear LSD) for skiing, a hardtop for mounting a ski rack, etc.it can pretty much do everything except be a convertible, go 4-wheeling, or tow anything...and I'd feel kinda bad about throwing a bunch of wet SCUBA gear or something in it (so we just take my roommates old ass Volvo )I can look past all of those things...but I want another motorcycle, and I want another jet ski or two, and/or a boat (when I get back to NC), and I want to have more spare cash for when I want to blow money on otherwise having a good time (i already sock away a shit ton, so I don't feel guilty about not putting it in the bank or my brokerage account)and the Evo's capability is kind of a blessing and a curse. I mean, it's like 95% blessing, but it will just about let you get away with murder when it comes to driving technique. I mean, a trained monkey could fucking FLY on a twisty road in it. It isn't all that involving or rewarding of good driving...you just kinda aim it with that lightning-quick steering, then hammer the shit out of the throttle, and watch as it makes your hamfisted efforts look like Michael Schumacher's work...which is awesome in some ways...but a tiny part of me misses having a backroad dance partner.[Edited on October 1, 2007 at 1:41 AM. Nah...I just thought "est" meant "estimated." Did he mean "established"? We've all seen that shit before, so you know what I'm talking about.
10/1/2007 9:37:33 AM
yeah, i've seen it a thousand times (and half the time you can just look and know it's bullshit by a wide margin)but the car dyno'd 276 rwhp...he's estimating 330 hp at the crank, just in case some poor soul who doesn't understand the difference is actually looking at a car like this (although i think they'd probably just be confused by seeing those 2 numbers anyway).i think that's figuring on a 20% driveline loss, which is probably a tad on the high side, but it's a pretty good ballpark bet.

Interesting fact, I flipped the original Flying Miata show car on Trinity several years ago. I would like to give credit to the Saturn who failed to yield and t-boned me.
