I have my IBM T30 laptop dual booting with Windows XP Pro and RHEL5. (Using grub loader)The last time I used the linux side, I improperly shut it down.I recently tried to clone the drive to a new WD120VE and ghost warned me that the linux partition was improperly mounted and suggested that I run fschk on the drive. So cloned anyway and tried to boot.grub didnt like that. and wouldn't boot to either OS upon installing the new drive. So I've booted to the original WD400 and booted linux. I let it run it's integrity checks. and properly shut it down.now the clone works without error. once it's finished, i'll update on whether tis booting properly again.Just my personal experience. I figured someone might run into this problem eventually, maybe this thread will help. I didn't think it would cause such a problem during clone. I guess you learn something new every day.Can anyone explain this further?

btw, it didn't work. The error disappeared, but the boot problems remained. I ended up formatting the entire HDD and starting from scratch.
