will dropping a class now affect financial aid I got for a full time schedule? I've never dealt with it before. If I drop below 12 hours, will I be required to pay money back? I'm taking a class just to be full time and it is killing me and I want to drop it so it won't negatively affect my GPA. thanks

Yes. What class is it?

this has been covered 100s of times - but the people that are helpful read study hall a lot so i'm moving it there - while you are in that section maybe poke around and you will find your answer before ambrosia/firegrl/etc answer it

change it to credit only if you still can, but I doubt you can

can you not transfer into another teacher's section? you could try and take it for credit if it isn't a major class...

you can change to credit/audit/drop until oct. 5 i think

^^No, it's the third. I second the recommendation to change to credit only.I don't know exactly what would happen if you dropped below 12hrs, but you would lose your full-time eligibility. Having never dealt with half-time eligibility, you probably should call OSFA at 5-2421. Were I in your shoes, making this decision, I'd - look at costs of attendance between FT and half- estimate a half-time aid package- get ready to pay back the difference. Really, though - call up financial aid.

This is the reason I always signed up for 2452342 hours each semester and then dropped to 15 before the deadline.

^ ditto.or just 17 or 18 hours. since 19+ hours requires those course overloads and they're a pain in the butt to get filled out and signed by all the right people.
