Does this share the same trailing arm as with the e30's or e36's?And any idea where to find a used one? Garage is trying to rape me for the cost of the new one.

It's not anything like the e36 (as e36s have a 5 link rear suspension), yours is technically a single link, kind of like the e30.It's not directly interchangeable with any other model that I can think of (not even the non M z3 models), but most similar to the e36 Ti or e30 M3 rear trailing arms.Ahmet

A lot of things about the M Coupe rear suspension are almost identical to the rear suspension on the E30, trailing arm included: http://e30m3performance.com/now_showing/m-coupe-arms/index.htm[Edited on September 19, 2007 at 11:06 PM. Reason : ]

Hmm maybe I should start searching for E30 trailing arms instead of z3 Coupe and z3 M coupe... might have a LOT more success[Edited on September 19, 2007 at 11:15 PM. Reason : .]

I bent it. I thought my coupe was feeling lonely and I wanted to introduce her to a new friend named Curb. Curb didn't like her too much and punched her in the left rear wheel.broke the diff mount plate too (was broken before by prev. owner and was welded poorly), already replaced that. then realized the alignment was absolutely gone. I've never felt a car handle so bad. Carefully got it to European and they said I need a trailing arm. *shrug* It was what I was afraid of after careful examination of how the wheel was sitting.I want to know where the guy on that page is getting this:M Coupe trailing-arms (~$300 ea.)p/n 33 32 2 227 967 ltp/n 33 32 2 227 968 rt Everywhere I've found one has been at or above $700[Edited on September 20, 2007 at 12:01 AM. They do look similar. I think the only real difference is that the arm for on your E36/7 doesn't have a toe adjustment like a regular E36 trailing arm. In fact there are no adjustments for the rear suspension on the E36/7, as far as alignment goes.

yeah not so much worried about that. the part that hurts me is the grand total of roughly $2500 to get her all fixed when first looking at it I didn't think she was hurt too bad.And that's 2500 to HOPE it comes back into alignment.

bmws take it better when you throw cones at them. good luck with the fix. you got pics

^^i know it sucks, but you did make the choice to own a german luxery/sports car. a limited production special edition one at that. not saying you did, but a lot of people make the mistake of not budgeting in inflated repair and maintinance prices when they buy a luxery/exotic/rare vehicle.it probably won't be the last time you're shelling out $texas on a repair if you keep it for any amount of time.

Yeah, good lesson in growing up a lil more. I can afford it, but it's not like I wanted to spend it of course.I have some pics of the car, yes. I'll post them when I get off work when I remember. I have a couple of the wheel scraped up and the broken diff mount too for when I was part searching. It's a dark metallic gun-metal gray. Beautiful if you ask me, but thats why I bought it.
