It has been a couple years, but when I did it I needed to send out an e-mail to a certain GPA range (honor fraternity). I went to Reg and Records and asked them for the list, and they e-mailed it to me within a day.I would think they would have some sort of listserv for everyone, just not sure if they would be quick to give it out.

If I don't know you, I don't want your email. I get enough spam as it is with NCSU's crappy filtering.

Don't send more than 50 recipients/outgoing message - at least that was the limit to make sure it got through when we did a big marketing project via campus email in 2005, obviously it's been a while, but it's something to ask about.

privacy block FTW

^^ ah yes, forgot about that. key piece of info. if you use outlook it is much easier to cut and paste the list into. but do keep it at the 50 people limit or it will kick it back.

i remember the old tickets email list that i would send toonly problem was whoever designed it made it a bitch to get people off the listso every time i would send out email on it, i got about 10 replies of hate mail to take them offso when i finally figured it out, i kept re-registering the ones who gave me the worst hate mail

build your own list.copy the CC:s of every bulk email that you ever get, or can get, from any source.extract the emails from every ncsu, student org, or student webpage.hell, just go through the WHOIS lists and add an @ncsu.edu after each login name.then bulk email from an anonymous address and put all the addresses in the BCC field.

All email address that are not privacy blocked are public record and can be requested. Or you can write a program to harvest the address from the directory. If you are going to send a mass email it is better to use a program to do it with. There are programs that allow you to set up your own server and send x number of emails per hour. This prevents a few things. The first if you send it through an account like gmail it has a max number you can send in x hours. Also, this helps to get by some of the university filters that are supposed to block messages coming in over so many an hour. Depending on whatever program you use or whatever you run it through make sure to read the fine print. Some programs reserve the right to charge you if are caught sending "spam"
