I hate printing in office 2007.Printing a 3 page document takes fucking forever.Printing handouts from slides take forever. This has happened to me on multiple machines. I find it faster for me to print them to PDF then print from pdf to the printer.anyone else have this problem?

the ribbon wasn't nearly as intuitive as i remembered it being in the beta (of course it didn't change drastically, but that's my experience)...plus, i'm USUALLY using office in quick bursts, as in i need to know where i'm going as fast as possible, and didn't like hunting around for it (i realize this can be improved by actually working with the software more, but after 3 months, it was annoying)...also, i can't send things to most people unless i remember to save to the older format (which is fine, but it's an extra step that i often forget because i'm in a hurry)meh, office itself runs faster and i'm sure that over time i'd be happy with it, but i don't have time to learn a new setup that (to me) isn't as intuitive as i'd hoped and make sure my stuff is compatible with everyone else's...also, the ribbon takes up more space than the old icon bar, and i like having as much space as possible in viewing the documentmaybe some of these things could be changed in preferences/settings, but i never took the time

I overheard the IT guys talking about how we're going to be upgrading to Vista and Office 2007 sometime next year. I just started to shiver at the thought.

^^ as far as the size of the ribbon goes see http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archive/2006/04/17/577485.aspx[Edited on September 18, 2007 at 12:05 PM. Reason : not trying to say you're wrong, just saying it's an interesting evaluation of a common complaint]

^To be fair I've actually experienced more formatting strangeness with powerpoint 2007 documents I've saved in 2003 format than with open office presentation files I've saved similarly. Probably something adressed in one of the many patches, but there can be quirkyness now and then when converting something created in OOXML format as an older office file. This can be avoided by being in "compatibility mode" the entire time though. Also, I'm pretty sure people with the compatibility pack are just fine regardless of what version of office created an OOXML file. That being said, almost nobody with 2000, xp or 2003 has actually bothered downloading it so you still have to send a lot of people 97-2003 formatted files.[Edited on September 18, 2007 at 1:13 PM. I just dove into it and SUFFERED mightily for a couple of weeks. Also, for the powerpoint ^^ comments, totally feel your pain man. Everything else seems to degrade pretty gracefully, but I just gave up on powerpoint and defaulted into 03 mode. Especially because my use of powerpoint is cutting and pasting in my illustrator layouts.

Nice comparison link, I was wondering if anyone had done one. I personally am still a fan of Office 2007. I haven't had a chance to work with Powerpoint yet, that sucks to hear it degrades so poorly.
