We need some recommendations for a contractor to replace the siding on our house. We're looking for someone who also has experience in roofing as our roof needs some work. We re-shingled it but it still needs some work. (ridgevents, flashing, etc... my husband can explain it better than I can) basically just finishing the job. We need someone reasonably priced who can get the job done (once started) within a week or 2.The guy that was hired only did about a days work and skipped out. we're really frustrated at this point and just want the job done right and in a decent time frame. My husband will even help you on the weekends to help it get done. So if you or someone you know (and trust!) would be interested in coming over and giving us an estimate please pm me. Or just list contractors that you know of and recommend in this threadthanks!

just do yourself a favor and stay away from craigslist when it comes to finding a contractorHire a legit company.......... not a guy to do the jobIf you want the work done right and on time expect to pay a fair price[Edited on September 17, 2007 at 10:33 PM. Reason : leme guess....he was the "cheapest"]

http://www.servicemagic.com/You can get multiple bids and clients can leave feedback on jobs so there is some sort of accountability. Much better than just craigslist.

We closed on the house at the end of July. The seller of the house is paying for the siding and roofing job (part of the contract). To be honest I'm not sure where he found this guy. He had 5 different guys come over and do estimates. I don't think the one he hired was necessarily the cheapest. My husband and I aren't paying for it so it was his decision who he hired. The guy seemed legit and professional but he's now MIA.^ I will check out that site. thanks!

You get what you pay for. The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a cheap price is forgotten. Call Baker Roofing at 828-2975. They are the true professional experts that have been in business in Raleigh since 1915.

^^ do you work for them or something? We kicked them off our job sites a while back. Not necessarily because of bad work, just crappy service and scheduling
