Does anyone have the Women's Signet? I'm trying to decide between the Women's Signet and the Regency. I am just wondering if the Signet is as big as it seems. I don't want a huge one, but not a tiny one either. (The Nobelese is out of the question! )I have seen the Regency, and its a good size, but I don't know if you can get a red stone in it; which is a big reason I like the Signet. Either way, I am going to try them on when they're here again (which I think is next week), but wanted some insight from someone who may have one. (PS: This thread gets made every year, but they're too old to post in now.)

You might want to at least tell us what company you're getting your ring through.
9/15/2007 4:54:27 PM
Oh, sorry! Balfour. They're the ones that come to the school and send the ads to your house. Or does another company go to the school too? Because I thought that was the only option. (Jostens don't have NCSU on their page)Please post other options that you know of, too![Edited on September 15, 2007 at 5:10 PM. Reason : ]

I have the dinner ring (the one with the black onyx) and love it. I think it looks classy and I'll wear it for a long time, especially since it has such a sophisticated look.Balfour will have rings set up in the bookstore every now and then for you to slip on and compare, so stop by there and try them on yourself.

artcarved used to do rings. i got mine through them and i really like it. it was so long ago though i don't remember the exact name of the ring though.turns out artcarved is now balfor. after looking at their site, i think mine is lady legend. it is a good size... not too big but not tiny either. and i got a red stone in mine[Edited on September 15, 2007 at 10:52 PM. What a complete waste of money.

hah. Speaking of class rings, I just went and bought an xbox 360 instead. lol I'd probably get more work done if i had gone with the ring though. [Edited on September 16, 2007 at 12:42 AM. Reason : ]

^^^ I don't see a lady legend, do you know if they still make it? And if so, do you have a pic?^^^^ The dinner ring is nice, but just doesn't look like a class ring to me. Plus, I don't wear much jewelry, so something like that wouldn't really fit me.
9/16/2007 8:46:09 AM
^I do think they still make it, but I don't know why they don't have it on the website. I found a brochurea at the bookstore and then went by and saw everything when they had their sale. i would recommend doing that. i think you might be able to find what a lady legend looks like under some other schools.
9/16/2007 8:51:30 AM
Ok, great. Thank you. They're going to be here all week next week and the following week so I'll go check them out. It does seem like the display they keep in the bookstore has more rings in it than the brochure does.

maybe a waste to some of you, but i wear mine everyday... i'm proud to show where i went to school. its not like bethaleigh asked you to buy her ring for her anyways!
9/16/2007 5:05:01 PM
Most people probably don't give a shit where you went to college...
9/16/2007 5:56:16 PM
i got my highschool ring from herffjones. i really liked it. but im not sure if they have an NC State One..http://www.herffjones.com/college/index_jewelry.cfm?at=4&con=25

I never bought a ring for HS or college graduation. Hell, I didn't want to go to either graduation, but my folks insisted so that they and the grandparents could take pictures.

man, people being looked down on for buying a class ring. didn't see that coming.
9/16/2007 10:20:01 PM
I'm a very visual person, I'm gonna need to see some pictures before I cast any votes
9/17/2007 12:06:27 PM
I don't really need votes on which to get, I was just wondering if someone could give me a size comparison. But either way, here's some pics! Women's signet (can have in red for sure)Regency (not sure if it can be in red or not)*BTW: If anyone is interested, the ring people will be here this week and next week from 11am to 5pm in the Bookstore![Edited on September 17, 2007 at 12:52 PM. They should make a class ring: "I have more money than brains"
9/17/2007 1:14:41 PM
^I vote for: "This was the high point of my life"
9/17/2007 1:39:01 PM
Honestly, if ~$300 is an issue for something that will last longer than you will, you should reconsider your major. I am not made out of money, my parents aren't made out of money nor pampering me and paying for my school, I work 3 jobs and pay for my school, truck, cell phone and everything else ON MY OWN. And I would like to have a class ring to mark A high point in my life, and yes it is a high point in my life (and yours too, if you had one) because it is marking the beginning of the rest of my life. And guess what, my parents are buying it for me! They may not have been able to pay for my education, but they do care enough about me to make sure I have something like this.I AM SO SPOILED!! MY PARENTS ARE LOADED WITH MONEY, LOADED I TELL YOU!!![Edited on September 17, 2007 at 4:28 PM. Reason : ]

Has nothing to do with how much money you have. That you don't have much makes it even worse. The difference is you believe that some material object somehow actually validates or improves your memory of this span of your life. I'd rather spend my three hundred dollars on a new future experience, than as some trinket to remind me of my past that I won't forget any way.
9/17/2007 5:05:18 PM
I never said anything about it validating or improving my memory. I don't know where you got that from. (and the money comment was not directed at you, you didn't mention money, that other guy did.)Either way, you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to this thread, this is not chit chat, and all you are doing is junking it up. I don't care if you don't want a ring, I didn't ask you. I also didn't ask how you show your school spirit, how you would spend money, or anything else. How about this: I DON'T CARE WHAT SOMEONE ELSE THINKS ABOUT MY CLASS RING! IT IS MINE, I WANT IT FOR ME AND NO ONE ELSE! IF SOMEONE DON'T CARE WHERE I WENT TO SCHOOL, IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME! I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS ABOUT MY FINANCIAL SITUATION BECAUSE I WILL HAVE A CLASS RING!THE RING IS FOR ME, NOT ANYONE ELSE.Noen, just please stop posting in here so this can get back to a ring discussion.BTW, I went and looked at the rings today, and I spoke too soon about the Nobelese... I'm pretty sure that is the one I will order. You can get a red stone, the Regency was too big, and the Signet was HUGE! So, the Nobelese is a nice ring, you can get the year date and BS on the side, unlike the other two, and it is not itty bitty like I thought it was going to be. I think I will be pleased with it. This is it, except white gold.[Edited on September 17, 2007 at 6:23 PM. Reason : ]

^very nice
9/17/2007 7:44:00 PM
Thanks I looked at all their rings today, and I didn't see anything besides what is currently on their site and in the brochure. They did have some extra rings, but she said that none of them could be made for NCSU. They had some really nice ones though.
9/17/2007 7:51:38 PM
I have the dinner ring and get compliments on it all the time.I basically never take it off; I love it.
9/17/2007 7:56:09 PM
Yeah, I can definitely see it being one to get lots of compliments, and a conversation piece. Its a pretty ring.
9/17/2007 8:08:13 PM
If I were to get a class ring, I'd opt for the "traditional" style. I mean, cause that's what they're meant to be--traditional.
9/17/2007 11:57:29 PM
9/17/2007 11:59:45 PM
I was never one for a class ring, so I don't know... is that 85 on the ring your birth year? Do people typically put their birth year on their class ring? I'd think that would be something women would avoid as it advertises your age to everyone. I guess it isn't really important for women in their early 20s, but certainly increasingly important in the late 20s.
9/18/2007 8:18:40 AM
No, that is BS, for your degree type.
9/18/2007 8:27:59 AM
Ha silly me.Looked like an 85 to me.
9/18/2007 8:37:58 AM
haha, not that I look at it, I can see why you would think so!
