Who would you take and why?My Choice: Jose Reyes, he's perfect to build a team around...the perfect leadoff hitter, nasty glove, nasty arm and he's probably the quickest/fastest player in the game, he plays at a different level. i love teams that run and he does it better than anybody.

If They Had an MLB Draft and I Had The First Pic I Would Probably Take Jose Reyes AlsoJohan Santana Would Be A Good Choice As Well

ummm arod... dont like him or the yanks but he is the best hitter in the game[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 2:04 AM. Reason : ]

cole hamels.

Albert Pujolshe's just now entering his PRIME years, kind of scary.
9/13/2007 7:04:18 AM
i'd let you take jose reyes and then I would laugh at you when I got Hanley Ramirez in the second roundwith that said I would take AROD first...assuming I had the bankroll of the Yankees
9/13/2007 7:14:12 AM
Hanley Ramirez... shitty defense but i love the guy.
9/13/2007 8:35:38 AM
I always take A-Rod first overall. Five-tool player just like Reyes, but with more power numbers.
9/13/2007 8:43:52 AM
Probably Urlacher, at least if I was running a 4-3.
9/13/2007 9:06:05 AM
I'd probably take Francisco Liriano if he wasnt hurt. So, instead I'll have to go with Justin Verlander.Young pitching is the way to go.
9/13/2007 9:40:15 AM
Johan SantanaI believe he was 44-4 in 2nd half starts between '02 and '06

im surprized this thread went so long without somebody making fun of title saying pic and not pickand i dont know shit about drafting in MLB, so id pick A-Rod
9/13/2007 10:34:52 AM
I'd take MannyLawson.
9/13/2007 10:46:57 AM
Prince Fielder, Han-Ram, or Pujols would be alright with me.
9/13/2007 10:48:33 AM
Mark Lemke. Definitely Mark Lemke.
9/13/2007 10:52:42 AM
Peyton Manning, he'd be a hell of a pitcher
9/13/2007 10:57:04 AM
i read the title and first thought that came to me was, "why would they have a draft for just middle linebackers".i got that pigskin on the brain.

NyM410 would take Reyes, if he doesnt slip on the way to the podium after jizzing all over himself
9/13/2007 11:31:54 AM
I would probably take Sizemore or Reyes... Reyes only over Hanley because of his defense and attitude. Ramirez is going to be a corner OFer eventually and the production Reyes gives out of the leadoff spot and the gold glove defense he gives at the most important infield position far outweighs any added offensive potential Hanley might have.
9/13/2007 11:42:28 AM
Justin Verlander

If I was trying to build a team, I would go after young starting pitching. Probably Santana, but guys like Verlander, Hamels, Bedard, Haren, Hughes, Gallardo, Linecum, Weaver, Felix, etc would be my targets. Finding hitters would be easy later in the draft although guys like Utley or Reyes are hard to find.[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 4:15 PM. Reason : Target middle infielders as my first hitters.]
9/13/2007 4:15:01 PM
No Brainer - A-Rod
9/13/2007 4:25:46 PM
Grady Sizemore or Victor Martinez[/homer]

i thought they already had an mlb draft where they selected college players
