Does anyone else have a problem with firefox freezing up, and giving you the 'not responding' deal when using it on Microsoft Vista? if so, how so you fix it.

i didnt while i had vista. is this for a single page or anywhere u try to go? have you messed with anything?

it will load at start-up, when changing sites, and when clicking links......so pretty much at any point in time. and I have had a chance to mess with anything, I've had the computer for about 2 weeks.

ok, so the more i mess around on my computer, the more every program freezes up. its expanded from just mozilla, to nearly every program. keep in mind this computer is less than a month old.....any ideas? I really dont want to spend about 9 hrs on the phone with dell.

You're saying that the entire computer is freezing up, or just the application?[Edited on September 6, 2007 at 9:44 AM. Reason : Oh, and Dell can't and won't fix that problem short of them telling you to use the Restore disks]

I had this exact same problem on my brand new dell I got back in January. I fixed the problem by uninstalling Vista.

That happened to me ALL the time except it was in XP.Random versions of Mozilla would completely freeze my system if I stopped a page load or X'd a tab during a page load. I ended up switching to IE7

its not the whole computer thats freezing, its just about every program i try to open.

that happens to me all the time in XP. i'm getting a new work computer w/ vista next week so i'll let you know about that later.

Vista Ultimate x64 and not a single problem with Firefox, or any other app for that matter.
