I've always thought that todays music (pop) or otherwise felt lifeless to me, and now there is a bit of proof.

One thing that ive seen in other areas (i didnt read this article) is that people are listeing to music in different settings (most of them noisy).

You cant hear dynamic range in music if the quiet parts are drowned out by background noise.

Ie buses are too loud to listen to music with good dynamic range, the same thing with the "club"
