custom audio adds a little bit of value if it's seemlessly integrated into the stock HU of a nice car, but if it's blatantly obvious and not a indash TV then it looses a little value. At a dealership they will pull out an aftermarket deck and replace it with a factory one if it's a late model vehicle.

it's usually a wash(no change in value) and better to just sell the custom audio bits seperately if possible

according to edmunds a dealer would give you ~ $6600 on trade in and private party price is ~$8100,

and in the event that you have EVERY option available on the car, it would be $8600 trade in and $10,400 private party...

Sure does look like it. I remember taking a 98' 740 to prom and thinking wtf how does this shit not have a cupholder as a feature of the car (so he probably put it in).

so if someone was to pull out the factory deck, put in a decent aftermarket deck, upgraded speakers and an amp to drive those speakers....i'm assuming that would have a negative effect on the value of the car right?

compared to a crappy factory stereo in a honda civic, bose is a terrible audio system? notice i used the word decent when i described bose, not great, or outstanding. sure it sucks balls compared to most aftermarket setups, but compared to lower end standard factory systems, its often much better.

wtf are you talking about? the bose system in my pathfinder (which i've since replaced) came with tweeters. do you just make this stuff up?
