i read about this a month or two ago, after it happened. very disturbing.

Regardless that the kid is handicapped, who tortures ANYONE'S animals and pets?! Stuff like this makes me SO angry. The kid that stole the tortoise probably didn't know that it belonged to a handicapped kid and with someone like this, it probably would not make a difference.

Call me crazy, but animal cruelty strikes me as one of those crimes where law enforcement in the form of roving death squads would provide an excellent deterrent.

I just think that if the penalty for this went from possible fine/prison to death by hanging from a streetlight, we would notice a remarkable drop.
