When I initially read this, it almost sounded like the start of a bad sci-fi flick about alien lifeforms invading from another planet.[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 1:07 PM. Reason : Not to knock the science however; from that standpoint it's an interesting article.]

^ Yeah it does sound eerie, doesn't it?Very interesting, to say the least. Goes to show how little we know about this universe, and even about our world.

From my read it seems like they didnt discover it, they foudn tha tthis happened during simulations, which at this point in time i dont really consider that reliable for something this groundbreaking or complex. I honestly hope its true, because it would be cool, but my guess is its media over reporting and over interperting.

Interesting find, but I feel like it would be a little premature to state that these structures can produce life. It's still has a long way to go before it can even be compared to the most simple cell organism.Besides, it was supposedly based on a computer model by researchers at the Russian Academy of Science. I'm not doubting that it's not legit, I'm just saying this isn't even scratching the surface. All we know that it has been theorized, and that it might be possible. It's a good thing, but can't really make any final conclusions from it."Self replicating dust... So that's where all the dust bunnies come from!"[Edited on August 16, 2007 at 9:50 AM. Reason : funny quote I thought of...]
