i got a new car almost 3 weeks ago, it came with 6 months of sirius service (included in the car price). is there a way to look in the radio for whatever code I would need to have to activate a portable sirius radio if i wanted to do so?

nope.

i think you would have to pay the $5 extra or whatever it is[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 11:29 AM. Reason : personally, i would buy the lifetime subscription if you like it]

i dont love itbut i hate FM around hereso im seeing it as a necessity at this point

Don't buy the lifetime sub. for that car unless you plan on keeping the car for a lifetime."Lifetime" means "for the life of that particular receiver," not your lifetime. In other words, you can't transfer your "lifetime subscription" to a new Sirius receiver should you buy one.

neg, you can transfer the subscription up to 3 times--there's a $75 fee
8/15/2007 12:27:14 PM
75 bucks each time ?
8/15/2007 12:29:20 PM
yeppersbasically, if you keep the car for 3.5 years you'll break even with a lifetime subscription compared to month-to-month, and every time you transfer your break-even point increases by 6 months[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 12:37 PM. Reason : ...]

i just pay the $13 a month for XM

8/15/2007 1:41:52 PM
i listen to the jesus AM radio stations
8/15/2007 1:44:51 PM
so, is this a sirius question?or are you just kidding
8/15/2007 1:53:41 PM
Wow, wasn't aware of that fee...still a horrible deal.Sirius not only has a horrible lineup IMO, the sound quality is just lacking. The difference in low-end between Sirius and a CD/MP3 is very noticeable to me

there are podcasts for just about everything
8/15/2007 4:13:11 PM
well, FanatiK stole my comment
8/15/2007 4:47:31 PM
when i transferred my sirius to another receiver they waived the fee for no apparent reason.
8/15/2007 10:03:23 PM
how is a 3.5 year breakeven point a terrible deal? lot better than paying 13/mo for the rest of your life.[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 10:26 PM. Reason : im at the 2.5 year mark on mine, but mine isnt cemented into my car.]
8/15/2007 10:26:31 PM
will the satellite receiver on my car (permanent satellite antenna on the back of the car) work with XM if it is currently set up for Sirius?
