We are having a party where there will be underage/high school people in abundance, and would like to get a soda keg or two, preferably with Mt dew or root beer.I would prefer not getting it online so (1.) there would be no shipping costs and (2.) we could return the keg and get the refund.

I don't think many distributors do the premix tanks anymore. Most systems now use a CO2 cylinder to make carbonated water on the fly. They actually meter the syrup into the carbonated water as you go.

No way. Don't expect people to drink soda in the quantities that people drink beer. Just go to Wal Mart, get a couple of random cases (also, variety!) and call it a day.

You can get kegs of rootbeer from Hard Times Cafe on Glenwood south. It's the best rootbeer I've ever had.

I had a real soda fountain in my house for about 4 years. I ended up getting a kidney stone that I associated with too much soda drinking, so it was removed. You cant get the premix stuff easily, and you will need to know a restaurant owner to help you get the stuff (local bottlers will NOT sell to individuals). I had 5 gallon BIBs. Go ahead and forget this idea. Too much trouble.
