My fiance and I want to get married in Burlington, where both of us are from and where both our families are. So, we are pretty sure our date is March 22, 2008, but that may change to May. Is that going to be too cold to have an outdoor wedding and where in the heck would you get married there? One of the places we can think of is at Cedarock Park, but I can't think of anywhere else.

I don't know if it would be too chilly, but the weather in NC around that date is completely unpredictable. It could snow, or it could be 75... you just never can tell! May is a little more predictable and seasonable.

Another place we thought of, not really Burlington, but close enough. In Gibsonville, the Burke Manor Inn. Any experiences there?

my experience with Burlington area is limited, but I know the Lake at Elon's campus is pretty, and I dont know, they might let you have it there on the cheap

weather is a complete toss-up though...it'll likely be chilly..but not too cold to stand outside..

I went to a wedding at the Burke Manor Inn last July. The weather was perfect, not too hot or too cold. The ceremony was outside in the garden (they will set up a tent if it looks like it is going to rain), cocktail party & reception under large tent w/ raised wooden flooring & dance floor area. The reception tent had plastic sides that could fold down incase of rain.

it was just beautiful! I'm not sure if the Burke Manor catered it, or if the food was brought in from an outside caterer, but it was wonderful too!

march 22 is perfect. I just got back from a wedding on july 28th this year for a couple of B-towners. It was hot as ball-sacs.


The place my friends got married at was called Hupman Gardens in Mebane. It was real nice and the ceremony had about 100 people. It should be nice in the spring when all the plants are blooming. I think B-town is in some serious drought so the plants at the time were kinda weak sauce.

I'd choose somewhere different than Burlington, but if you're fairly set on it for whatever reason, look at Elon's campus. There's an extremely small chapel good for maybe 50 people up there, not to mention the ridiculous amount of nice landscaping they've got. You'd probably have better chances of clearing it with them if it's in May and not during the school year. Cedarock park is a good little distance out from Burlington and may be an issue if you're going to have a lot of people and/or the reception elsewhere. Take a look at Lake Mackintosh off Huffman Mill Rd while you're at it as well.
