Where to buy around Raleigh, Cary or Durham????


The only place that i've found anything I liked was a little boutique in Fuquay called "Hot Mama". They're going out of business so everything was 75% off.

I just need clothes for work - slacks, skirts, and tops. I don't want to spend a lot of $$ on clothes I'm only going to wear for a few months.

and why not ask around, all kinds of people are pregnant or have been recently. just borrow crap, thats what i think i would do

Mimi Maternity is by the food court at Crabtree, and their stuff is cheap A Pea in a Pod is relatively expensive (they have designer maternity jeans, etc.), but they have good sales. And come on, go to Target, it's pretty cute too.

there is a motherhood at triangle town center. some walmarts actually have a few cute things too though it's hit or miss. Ross carries some maternity clothes as well (though not a huge selection).

oh, sears has good stuff too for good prices (it's the same stuff as at motherhood). you can also sometimes find things a jcpenneys.

there is a motherhood outlet in smithfield if you ever get down that way.

I was not impressed with Target.
Travis - I laughed when someone told me about this place in fuquay but I took her word for it and am glad I went. It was all high end maternity clothes. I'd never spend $100 + on a pair of pants but when they were 75% off and looked great...

The friends I have with kids... their maternity clothes they've tried to pass on are all way too big.
I haven't really gained too much weight and I've gotten away with just buying larger size pants till now but I do need nice slacks for work.

I didn't see any stores in Crabtree and I don't recall seeing them in other malls (never had to look in the past) so I asked here. Most of my friends suggested Gap Maternity and Target but I haven't found much I liked.

Cravings in North Hills (on the side where Harris Teeter is). they also have a store up on Falls of the Neuse behind stonewood grill and fresh market.

As nuts as it sounds, buckle it down and pay the $140 for a pair of maternity seven jeans.... you'll wear them until you pop, and then for another 4 months after that. They're worth every single penny.

Cravings has great sales. Old Navy has some cute maternity clothes, and you can also try the consignment stores for deals. Also try Kohl's.

try Kid to Kid...they're at Crossroads in Cary and at Beaver Creek in Apex...they usually have some pretty nice maternity stuff for very reasonable prices...they also have lots of baby supplies and baby clothes.

I knew a woman who was pregnant with her third child, and she wasn't showing much of a weight gain either for a long long time (very trim and fit, normally size 0 or 2). She just wore her really low rider jeans, that way her growing belly just kinda...popped over it?

Granted, this doesn't work for further months, but its a start...

Oh, almost forgot - eBay is fantastic for maternity clothes, especially things like nice dresses that you would only wear a few times anyway.

thanks for all the advice. I'm going shopping this weekend.

I was a size 3/4 and was in good shape (ran a few times a week). The doctor says my ab muscles are holding her in more so i'm not showing too much. Plus I eat extremely healthy. Even pregnant I can't eat junk food. I'd rather eat some grapes or carrots then chips and cookies. My only craving is italian ice.
But i've gone up to a size 8-10 now at 5 months. I've only gained maybe 8-10 lbs and it's all in my belly.

My wife bought most of her stuff at Motherhood Maternity at the Cary mall.

She'll still go in there to look at stuff for the next time she gets pregnant

I know some women who LOVE maternity clothes. But i'm not too thrilled about buying them.
Perhaps because pretty much my entire wardrobe was from the Limited and I'm mad I can't shop there anymore. ha. I love the fact that empire waist shirts are still in style and they fit me. I can at least wear those when I'm not pregnant. It's just hard to justify spending so much on clothes that only fit for a few weeks or months. I do plan on having more children but we want to wait a few years in between.
