here's the question.... Is there a way to lookup a vin (or any other search method) to see if a mustang claimed to be a "roush" mustang was truly done by roush versus some schmoe doing it up as a replica???The owner of my dealership is at auction right now and found an 06 Mustang GT that is worked up amazing and supposedly a roush vehicle.... when running a car fax I get that the vehicle was totalled and issued salvage title 4 months after it was bought- then a second "unlisted" owner bought the vehicle and pu "-0-" miles on it after....???

18. I recently purchased a ROUSH vehicle, the VIN is xxx. Can you tell me what this vehicle is, and what options it came with? Yes and no. If you submit your VIN number and the model year of the vehicle through the online Q&A form, we can lookup whether ROUSH produced the vehicle, and what package it was sent with. For a certification letter, detailing all of the ROUSH-installed options, there is a $50 fee. Please call 1-800-59-ROUSH if you are interested in this certification letter.from http://www.roushperformance.com/faq.shtmlFirst hit on my google search. $50 charge, tho

^^^unless u don;t deal with salvaged performance shit....we deal mostly in preowned honda/acura/nissan and have for 27yrs so a roush mustangs are certainly not our forte- ^the car was slammed but has been rebuilt back to 100% and ^ he is looking to pay close to nothing for it hence i'm trying to find out if its really worth it or not. He drove the car and said it was fantastic-[Edited on August 8, 2007 at 1:54 PM. Reason : .]

well right now a run of the mill 06 v8 coupe auctions about $22,800 with 6,000miles on it..... this one has 7100 miles and the seller wants to get $12,000 for it but with a salvage title.... usually salvage retail is going to be about a 50-60% cut so the guy is trying to get a few grand more out of it for the "roush" stage 2 package.....thats where the ----- is it worth it and how much to bid comes into play...we'll see what happens
