.. Or does this sound like a legit situation? I'm not car savy, so I may be vague on some technical terms.. Here's the situation: Car was rattling when i gave it gas... was told his was a leak in the manifolds, so they replaced both of them (about $750)So I pick up the car and the next day I get to work and my car is shaking something awful, I can barely accelerate, and the check engline light is flashing... I'm on my way back to the shop. The guy says, "Oh I think I know the problem" Opens the hood and puts one of the spark plug caps on... everything is copacetic.... for about 10 miles... them my service engine soon light comes on again (not flashing)... So I call and he says "oh it's probably because you were riding with the cap off and all the sputtering, it probably registered the problem... Bring it in and we'll clear the code"..So I bring it in and they clear the code. 5 miles later it comes on again... I bring it into the shop today for them to check it out and the just called me to tell me it has nothing to do with the work they did last week and it is something to do with "Upstream oxygen sensors that are picking up lean (something or other)With parts and labor the 2 oxygen sensors to be replaced are about $250... now my check engine light was NOT on when I brought it in... he says, they might be picking it up now that they fixed the manifold leak because there was such a leak before that the sensors weren't picking it up... but I'm almost positive I got the oxygen sensors replaced last eyar, MAYBE be the year before... Any thoughts? Could the light be because of soomething they did? Thanks TWW Garage

sounds like the air pump check valve is damaged or stuck open, completely easy to fuck up when changing manifolds

do you have all your service records? Find the record that you think indicates oxygen sensors having already been replaced, and then post exactly what the invoice says ("REPLACE OXYGEN SENSOR or whatever)

I don't know if I still have the paperwork for the O2 sensors.. IF i did replace them last year. (i'm pretty sure I did) but a lot of my paperwork got wet one day, so it had to go. So i got dicked on the manifold stuff, probably... could they have caused the O2 sensor problem I have now? when I get home I'll post the paper work from the Manifold work they did.... what shall I do/Can I do?
