My roomate has DVR/HD service at our apartment and his mother pays for it because they own the place.

Can I bring my own TWC DVR Box from my parents house and plug it in the room at my apartment? Do they really do something special with the outlet it's hooked up to?

I don't want to pay the owners additional $ for a box through their account since I'm getting a better deal at my parents house.
