I am in the process of switching a carrier. Decide to go away from Verizon and switch to new ATT. The only phones I am considering are Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Personal preference.I don't have need for PDA, smart phone/whatever. Just need basic phone with camera that will work good and stand 2 year abuse. Strongly considering Sony Ericsson W810i.Any other suggestion pros have? Should I wait for some better phone thats coming up soon...or ?[Edited on August 5, 2007 at 4:40 AM. Reason : r]

W810 has proven to be an awesome phone. I've been using mine for over a year and no complains whatsoever. You will not be disappointed.

question.... reviews mentioned static during calls. any experience with that? is call quality clear?

I've never experienced static or noise interference in my area. Call quality is pretty clear, there are times when the other person's voice fades in when speaking (happened like twice) and I've had a dropped call here or there, but I think thats more network-related.

Another vote for the w810i. I've had the phone for about a year and its the best phone I have ever had! Sounds perfect for what you're looking for.

w810i is the best cell phone I have ever owned. Get the 4gb card and you basically have an iPod Nano with a phone on it for a shit ton less than an iPod
