when i get back to the states, i'm debating one of two things: getting a pocketpc phone OR getting a new mp3 player that has the ability to read PDFs (not necessarily ebook format, generic pdfs will do)suggestions? i don't NEED a new phone, and the price tag + contract renewal is something of a turn off...i currently have a 5gb creative that is more than adequate, so i don't NEED a new mp3 player, either...i just desperately want the ability to read books on either my phone or mp3 player when i'm travelingEDIT: i just realized i can probably just convert pdfs to JPEGs and read them that way, but i don't know how well that would work...either way, my current mp3 player doesn't view images[Edited on July 28, 2007 at 7:45 AM. The iPhone can read PDFs but you have to transmit them by emailing it to yourself. And the iPod can read text files.

apple products are strictly off-limits...the iphone won't be buy-worthy for a gen or two (seriously) and ipods are STILL overpriced for what you get (unless features have changed since a year ago when i looked into getting one...which they may have)[/anti-apple rant]

buy any basic pda with an ebook reader and a built in mp3 player, 4 gig sd cards are dirt cheap, and then you are set.
