Their entire datacenter has been down now for over 8 hours. At least they have nice customer service. Looks like I'm going to have to buy temporary hosting elsewhere and move every (@*#&%)(*@# site I host tonight just in case they haven't got their acts together by the morning.I mean seriously, what host a) has no online status for the servers/datacenter, b) goes offline for EIGHT HOURS without notifying any of their customers, c) can't give you any estimation of return time and d) leaves their technical support in the dark?Honestly I really like 1and1. Their tech support has been awesome, this is the first downtime I've ever had, but this is absolutely retarded.I'm told I will be notified via email, sms and my account message by 6:00am est about the status, cause and resolution. Does anyone else have multiple hosts just for this kind of situation? I used to, but apparently got spoiled by being on a dedicated co-location for so long. Seriously this is mind-boggling.

is this related to the craigslist/technorati host down time? could it be 1&1's datacenter was impacted too?i dunno, i love lunar pages though if you are shopping around

I have no clue. They won't tell you where their datacenters even are. All I know is it looks like its time to move back to a colocation again

dunno, all my 1and1 sites are up now, and i guess i didn't check them yesterday evening. but yeah, apparently a huge datacenter, 365 Main, in San Fran went offline yesterdayor, it looks like much of the city lost power for a whilehttp://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/07/24/BAG9NR67253.DTL&tsp=1
