should Selig be on hand and give him an award and all that and should the Giants throw a big celebration if and when it happens at Giants field.I think its the right thing to do, innocent until proven guilty for BondsSelig not making a big deal of it just shows how guilty he thinks Bonds is.He needs SOME recognition from baseball and the Giants especially.

it's all kind of water under the bridge, since selig said he'd try to be there yesterday
7/25/2007 2:24:51 PM
I know he will attendbut that doesnt mean he will go on the field and give him a handshake and take pics and all that I personally think he SHOULD do.

yeah selig will be there unless he has some kind of emergency...and giants fans will definitely celebrate...not so sure how it would play out if he broke the record in another park though...like in atlanta where aaron broke ruth's record...i think they'd be pretty pissed

MLB should recognize it and Selig should be there. As much as I hate Barry and am a fan of Hank's, the fact remains that Bonds is breaking the most hallowed record in all of sports (currently). I'm just glad that A-Rod will break whatever Bonds sets in 5-6 years.

i hope he does break it in another park, and the boos come long and loud

I hate Barry, but baseball should recognize it for one reason: baseball looked the other way when all the records were being broken in the late 90s. It was great for the sport, so it seemed. The strike dealt a pretty bad blow, but fans were filling the parks again. Baseball (meaning the administration) knew what was going on and refused to do anything about it.Baseball created Barry Bonds* and they can't throw him to the curb now. They're just as guilty.

How do the Giants fans feel about him?
7/25/2007 8:53:51 PM
Wow, Curt Schilling calls out McGwire and Bonds... good for him.
7/25/2007 9:07:23 PM
Schilling is a tool.
7/25/2007 9:52:47 PM
If the past is any indication, Schilling will take it all back within a day or two anyway.
7/25/2007 9:59:12 PM
Curt Schilling is like the Cindy Sheehan of baseball. I agree with the basic premise of their arguments, but I also wish they'd shut up, or have someone else step up in their place.

i think MLB should make yet another thread about Barry
