http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2007/07/23/anthony-hill-out-with-knee-injury/Statefansnation is reporting an ACL injury. Does anyone have credible information on this, as far as if he is injured and if so, the extent of it?Dude is inconsistent sometimes, but a beast when he is on his game. If true, I guess we'll have to see how legit Stone is at TE sooner rather than later.
7/23/2007 10:01:25 AM
looks like george bryan better be ready to play.
7/23/2007 10:04:33 AM
SHIT. Hill was one of the guys I was looking forward to watching the most. Although we were going to see stone anyway, 2 TE sets. This is a major loss if true.
7/23/2007 10:06:07 AM
That sucks for like the only preseason All-ACC player we have... Did Rashad Phillips ever get back over that car accident??He should be a what redshirt-freshman this year?
7/23/2007 10:06:17 AM
oooo this could be bad indeed.... that is unless he hasnt worked through his propensity to drop passes like hot potatoes from last year....
7/23/2007 11:32:22 AM
yea, im not upset by this, if this is the same Hill that dropped about 2/3 of the passes that came to him last year[Edited on July 23, 2007 at 3:24 PM. Reason : j]
7/23/2007 3:24:08 PM
^except for the fact that there is ZERO depth at TE
7/23/2007 3:24:57 PM
and the fact that Bible already has committed to a two TE set for this year that he plans on running alot to help boost our rungame... damn...
7/23/2007 3:26:11 PM
haxors into my account....change up that 3 letter password folksI do not support or provide knowledge of the fact that our players would actually lose games on purpose. This message brought you by John Tart, III the real JT3bucky[Edited on July 23, 2007 at 3:44 PM. Reason : fr]
7/23/2007 3:29:32 PM
why would players agree to come play for a coach they don't like.
7/23/2007 3:31:16 PM
Oh great. Another wolfwebber thinking he knows what the fuck he is talking about.
7/23/2007 3:31:46 PM
Hill is most valuable for his run blocking, something very important for TEs in Dana Bible's offense. Stone can hopefully make some good plays as a receiving TE, but we could really use Hill as an extra lineman much of the time. Hill also made some spectacular plays receiving at times, he just needs to work on his focus and intensity, which I believe is coachable.

did any of you guys watch that performance against ECU last yearseems like everyone threw that game away
7/23/2007 3:46:08 PM
when did Donaghy start playing for NCSU?

FYI, there is no injury to Anthony Hill. TOB cleared it up today.
7/23/2007 10:26:28 PM
Man I hope so....Hill is going to be a big part of our team this year. TOB loves using TEs.

Sweet...
7/24/2007 11:58:42 AM
^^ ah much thanks.I cant help but remember TOB's history at BC with injuries though. Didnt that one guy make it out like TOB made him play his senior season even though he was injured because the "team needed him". Much could be said about Ant Hill this year, especially with the new offense we will be running. I hope that he really isnt hurt, but I can't help but wonder what isnt being said and why the rumors started in the first place....
7/24/2007 12:23:41 PM
out for 2007 season.

well shit.
7/25/2007 5:01:51 PM
Marcus Stone, First String Tight End
7/25/2007 5:02:29 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
7/25/2007 5:07:56 PM
well fuck me
7/25/2007 5:10:59 PM
7/25/2007 5:11:07 PM
well, at least we will have him for our senior backs and QBs with experience next year since he will redshirt im sureStone may be more of a Dallas Clark as compared to an Antonio Gates in these schemes.and this may not be too bad, you know Stone will work his ass off to get credit and make it in the NFL at least as something, and not to mention this always gives us the trick play threat with him in the game...so that may be a plus side to note on this TRAGEDY
7/25/2007 5:11:15 PM
i dont doubt stones pass catching abilities. We saw he could catch the ball last year. His blocking is what i wonder about
7/25/2007 5:20:30 PM
7/25/2007 5:33:44 PM
I'm really more worried about the rest of our tight ends being able to block...we're going to need a lot of run support to take the pressure off our inexperienced QBs.
7/25/2007 5:35:34 PM
Whatever happened to Octavius Darby?? Dude was supposed to be nasty coming out of high school (teammate of Dunlap).Didn't he get suspended or something? Now would be a great time to reinstate him.
7/25/2007 7:57:05 PM
This is the end of the world. Fuck.
7/25/2007 8:36:24 PM
Dammit, good luck on the rehab Ant. Also unfortunate is this is the first year the TE position has appeared to be thin coming into the season. Hopefully one or two guys will step up and surprise us, b/c TE will be a key position for us this year. Hopefully Brown and Baker can push these guys to get better every practice.
7/25/2007 9:14:21 PM
I wonder if it is too late to move a guy like Pat Bedics to TE.
7/25/2007 10:11:40 PM
Andre Brown to TE.
7/25/2007 10:40:04 PM
What about bulking up one of our young WRs and moving them to TE?Darrell Davis, Jarvis Williams, and Donald Bowens are all close to 6'4 and 210 lbs. I say take the best blocker of the bunch and move them inside.[Edited on July 25, 2007 at 10:42 PM. Reason : ]
7/25/2007 10:42:06 PM
I don't think you want those guys moving inside there. Williams seems like he could be a deep threat and looks like he has great hands. Bowens could be that guy to make plays over the middle, but none of them really look like they could get up to 235, which is a minimum weight to play TE IMO.In all seriousness, you don't even want to move one of the tailbacks to fullback/TE because they will just get beaten up...and Andre and Toney are much bulkier than those wideouts. [Edited on July 25, 2007 at 10:52 PM. Reason : ]
7/25/2007 10:50:28 PM
He played with two broken hands last year, so I don't see the big deal with an injured knee.
7/25/2007 10:50:51 PM
Pack Pride announced that he will miss the entire season. As far as i'm concerned, thats just less dropped balls.
7/25/2007 10:54:01 PM
^Yeah WTF we don't need the best TE in the ACC. He was our leading receiver over Dunlap, Barrett, and Blackman.
7/25/2007 10:56:42 PM
Bring back packplayer[Edited on July 25, 2007 at 11:01 PM. Reason : Sean Berton's username]
7/25/2007 10:57:51 PM
With as many drops as he had last year, he's still by far our best TE and he still led the team in receptions I think...or damn close to it. I'm more worried about Andre and Toney getting beaten up than catching passes. Hate him for the drops, but he was dominant as a blocker...no way in hell stone can compete in that respect.
7/25/2007 10:57:57 PM
BUT STONE IS AN ATHLETE HE IS MUCH BETTR THAN HILL
7/25/2007 10:59:04 PM
there is no way that A. Hill is the best TE in the ACC
7/25/2007 11:01:14 PM
7/25/2007 11:02:24 PM
I was looking forward to seeing Anthony Hill catching the ball without broken hands.
7/25/2007 11:02:43 PM
Someone said Stone is up to 250 pounds and still runs 4.7.who knows.
