HAY

You can't just make this thread and not tell us department, major, thesis title, etc!!!

Good luck tomorrow

(Good visualization technique when talking to an audience: Imagine people in audience are mannequins, or friends, or idiots, or people who don't speak English... whatever works for you mentally!)

Had a CE prof who said basically all their board does is ask a few detailed questions to see if you know your shit like you say you do, then they just shoot the shit for 15 minutes while you sweat it out and then congratulate you.

It'll go fine. My MA was a brief presentation of my research, one-two questions from each committee member and then they debated amongst themselves.

Good stuff...

His adviser is Dr. Zhang. $5 says she makes you sweat it far more than you need to.

Dept.: MEAS
Major: Atmospheric Science
Title: An Examination of WRF/Chem: Physical Schemes, Nesting Options, and Grid Resolutions

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd

I passed. Presentation went long at 1 hr. 15 min. and the exam afterwards lasted from 330-5. Mostly debate and some derivations of equations and some ozone/nitrogen chemistry.

Finish these revisions, then peace out.

Good job, and congrats.

I love the internal debate among the professors at these things. I didn't do my MS at NCSU (funding got dropped, moved to another school ), but when I finally defended my thesis, they asked me a few questions, and then all the professors who all think they know everything, got in arguments with each other and debated for over 2.5 hours, and I'm just standing up there sorta moderating between them

Now that it's over for ya, would you say that the worrying about it was the worst part?

yeah, it was def. the anticipation that gets to you. it's kinda like a doctor telling you two weeks ahead of time he's going to give you a shot, as opposed to just sneaky-stabbing you. course this is a two-year wait.
