I'm second-shooting a Jewish wedding this weekend and was wondering what all typically goes on during the ceremony that I should be looking out for. I've googled it and am reading up on it, but apparently a lot of traditional stuff isn't done as often, which is why I stress the "typical". If there's something that they tend to leave out in a more conventional wedding, what would they be? I know the glass-stomping is standard, I've seen plenty of that in photography, but what about the plate-breaking (bride/mom/mom-in-law)? Do they stick to all of the blessings? My boss also said it's going to be an all-day thing. So I'm guessing it's going to be stretched out, and not hectic? I've had brides literally make a minute-by-minute checklist.[Edited on July 16, 2007 at 3:39 PM. Reason : .]

isn't there some raising of the couple in their chairs event?

I dunno, I have received no specific info on it whatsoever.

I've only been to one but I do remember at the dinner afterwards the couple being raised on chairs and people kinda dancing circles around them. I only remember because I almost dropped the bride. Stupid alcohol.

part of it is tricking a goy into coming and then murdering them and using their blood to make matzah balls.

you think your boss would ask if there are any special moments the bride and groom want photographed

Yeah, we both give our clients wedding info stuff to fill out, but when she's in charge, I don't get immediate access to everything on it. She might give me the time/location/essentials but the rest is her telling me what to do and when to do it. Which is cool, but I feel a lot better when I've got a week to look through it. The best I can do now is research as much as I can.

A Catholic priest says to a rabbi: "It seems to me that if the Creator made pork, He must have made it for a purpose. It must be a sin not to use it then, don't you think? When are you finally going to try it?"The rabbi replies: "At your wedding."
