This gets its own thread. It's not so much the number of losses that amazes me (I mean 124 years of playing baseball), but the fact that it would take over 7 consecutive years of undefeated baseball to be back to .500. I wish they could've left the Vet around just to accomplish it there. I would've been clapping my ass off if I to witnessed it in person too. Today, the world gets to join us in our frustration. I KNOW there's some other Phils fans out there...show yourselves!

Congratulations from a suffering Reds fan. It was long and arduous, but you beat us to the milestone.

i'm a phils fan (live in the lehigh valley when not at school). holla.i really don't care about this though. one of the oldest teams in baseball, it's bound to happen.

I grew up going to Phils games at the Vet. What a dump, but I liked it.
7/16/2007 7:40:14 AM
the CUBS don't have that many lossesnot to mention ANY OTHER PRO SPORTS TEAMbut kudos to the Phil's
7/16/2007 7:41:38 AM
how could any non-baseball team have that many losses? Hell, they lose more games a year than other sports play (well, within 2 games) in a whole season.
7/16/2007 7:45:17 AM
i was supposed to go to the game last night, but my buddy backed out...it's too bad, i'd have loved to have been there.i would have rather seen it end in a 10-0 loss just for the irony.[Edited on July 16, 2007 at 7:58 AM. Reason : e]

what's scary is there is hardly have anything to work with in the farm system. that means relying on management to go out and get pitching during the offseason....which generally means huge contracts to old, broken-down arms past their prime, who were probably not that good in their prime either. i was actually semi-optimistic this year until Rollins had to open his fat mouth in the spring...it was all over after that. and there is no help in sight.

Ha ha Jim Rome went off on this banner yesterday.

8/26/2007 5:21:37 PM
Fuck you Iguchi. Stand in there like man instead of acting like you just got shot from a little contact. And fuck you Phillies. Win on a fucking 15 foot grounder last night and a fucking interference call tonight. Fuck all of Philadelphia, the fucking trashy shitass city.Ok, I'm done.[Edited on August 29, 2007 at 10:24 PM. Reason : of course everyone knows they'll pull a Philly and choke in Sept.]
8/29/2007 10:23:38 PM
What is bad is that they would not have turned that double play....He should have just slid in there normally and not 10 feet off the bag like a dumbass.

What a fucking weird series. A 4 game sweep, the last 3 decided by the last swing of the game. 2 game lead in the divison heading to a place the Mets lose seemingly every time.Thank the fucking lord there aren't any more games in the little league park in Philly this year.
8/30/2007 5:15:23 PM
Last time I bet on the Mets thats for sure
8/30/2007 5:20:09 PM
lol mets
