I wonder if he had himself strapped in? Sounds like he was wearing a parachute, so if he fell out he could still make it to the ground safely. That's a really cool thing to do, I bet it would be an amazing experience.

they did something similar on that brittish Brainiac show (shown on G4TV sometimes) but they just figured how many helium filled baloons it would take to lift just a person, no lawnchair business.
