Not really - he'll live 20 years in jail on our tax dollars before they ever get around to killing him. Pretty unjust if you ask me.
7/9/2007 5:33:42 PM
Hopefully they fry the other 2 as well.

Dude, could you please post the source link. One of my ex co-worker's best friend lived in Brier Creek when this happened, so I want to send him a link to a "real" article rather than a TWW post.

so is it painful or anything for the person dying or do they just basically go to sleep? cause it needs to be painful.
7/10/2007 12:51:02 AM
Well if the anaestetic doesn't work on you (some argue you can still feel pain) then you basically die from slow suffication and muscle spasms and can't scream.
7/10/2007 12:58:35 AM
^^ and ^ I can understand some people wanting killers to suffer--but dead is dead.
7/10/2007 2:10:01 AM
haven't read the story or anything, but i'm going to assume he's poor and most likely a minority.
7/10/2007 2:13:21 AM
i like when the doc says he may have felt pain after its oversince the victim felt it, why not them too?
7/10/2007 2:16:09 AM
^^ Yes--here's a link to a picture. Will your heart start bleeding for him now or later?PS: Way to keep yourself informed. GG!http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=triangle&id=5435088[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 2:21 AM. Reason : .]

no. i don't believe in the death penalty period. but it just seems to be disproportionately doled out to poor and minorities because they can't afford better lawyers. and yes, he is indeed a poor minority.but yeah, i don't believe in the death penalty because, well, call me crazy, but i don't like the idea of our government killing its own citizens (much less people killing each other in general).
7/10/2007 2:26:59 AM
^ Waring wasn't picked at random to be executed because he is a poor minority. He confessed to brutally raping, stabbing, and torturing this young woman:

7/10/2007 2:43:10 AM
^ You can take the passivist's approach. I'll take proportionality any day of the week.
7/10/2007 2:49:02 AM
^and? i think it's wrong to put him to death. OH MY GOD I THINK IT'S WRONG TO KILL PEOPLE AND IT DOESN'T ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING BUT FULFILL SOME LAME BLOODLUST OR REVENGE SOME PEOPLE FEEL WILL HELP RID US OF VIOLENCE.[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 2:50 AM. Reason : nm the second part.]
7/10/2007 2:49:13 AM
this kid failed at life and as a human being. commence termination. why should the innocent suffer by having human garbage running around?AND your government kills people all the time...innocent people...just because they are citizens of another country doesn't mean they are less worthy.[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 2:51 AM. 7/10/2007 2:51:02 AM
i agree (with the second part). but we can't lock up an entire country. we can lock up this guy.[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 2:53 AM. Reason : .]

^^and what does "bring him to justice" really mean?to your addendum:how am i "blaming america"? minorities and the poor are disproportionately put to death.i believe the death penalty is wrong.how are either of these things "blaming america"?^ and what good will that do, beyond just continuing the spiral of violence in our society?[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 3:01 AM. ^^ it means whatever you want it to mean. For those who want him to die it means that. For others it means lock him up and work towards a time when people dont kill people for no reason. Justice does not have a basic definition so it cant be used to rationalize execution[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 3:04 AM. Reason : ^^][Edited on July 10, 2007 at 3:04 AM. Reason : ]
7/10/2007 3:03:53 AM
and minorities and the poor are put to death more often than upper classes simply because crime rates are higher among these groups and the crimes are usually more brutal.
7/10/2007 3:04:55 AM
^^^^ Aren't entities of the American government putting these people to death? Doesn't society allow it? Demand it? I mean, executions are not happening in a vacuum, are they?[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 3:06 AM. Reason : .]
7/10/2007 3:05:28 AM
no, even when controlled for those variables, the rich and white get off with lighter sentences.^so criticizing anything that's happening in any state gov't is blaming america?
7/10/2007 3:06:00 AM
7/10/2007 3:08:05 AM
^the rich and white don't get off easy...the super rich maybe but middle class white folk don't.last time i checked OJ was black not white...he seemed to get off pretty easy^no, its actually your society that causes such crimes...other countries don't have these problems nearly as much as the US because they have stronger family values...poor or rich.[Edited on July 10, 2007 at 3:09 AM. WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A Justice Department report examining federal prosecutors' handling of death penalty cases has found no intentional racial or ethnic bias, CNN has learned.http://archives.cnn.com/2001/LAW/06/06/justice.death.garza/

^ You're the fucking dumbass. I can click a mouse, too. If you haven't noticed, I'm taking the pro-death penalty position. GG!PS: I don't give a shit what you think.
