I run the disc for Vista and although it begins to install the 32-bit version (x86) it tells me that the operating system denied access to sources/x64/sources/setup.exe when I try to install the 64-bit version (x64).

Do I need to change some settings on my computer to run this or do I need to download any additional files? I have an Athlon 64 processor so it should work.

do you have the retail version? if so, i thought you had to call ms to get the 64 bit version, and only the 32 bit version comes in the retail box.
