have been putting with a blade for a long time and i like the blade style but i'm towards something a little different. I wish i could afford a scotty but maybe some years down the line. Right now I'm leaning towards orwhat's everyone else using these days?

i used an odyssey for a long while till one of my friends bent it with the cart i liked it a lot, felt really soft when it hit the ball and rolled it instead of pushing/scooting it across the grass
7/6/2007 8:16:27 AM
i use an odyssey whitehot 2ball and love it. like ^ said, it feels great on contact.
7/6/2007 8:26:13 AM
yeah i really love how effortless they make it feel. I just had to purchase a replacement 8 iron since mine was ganked a few weekends back, but that didn't set me back too much so i may go out and get one today after work.^does that two ball really help your alignment on the green? I like the way it feels in the shop but I haven't gotten a chance to really use it on the course. Do you notice improvement?[Edited on July 6, 2007 at 8:28 AM. Reason : add]

^ i really don't notice much of a difference, but i am also not a particularly good golfer.[Edited on July 6, 2007 at 8:43 AM. Reason : fuck, missed 3663]

I love my White Hot
7/6/2007 9:11:46 AM
odyssey is reallllly good.ive got a cobra optica. i like a heavy putter and this thing feels like a putter with a boulder at the end.hit up some golf shops and test a few putters
7/6/2007 9:46:26 AM
that thing looks more like a space ship than a golf putter... are there really little lights on it? or are those just dots for lining it up...and why does it look like it has a c-clamp?(serious curiosity, i know nothing about putter technology)
7/6/2007 9:49:20 AM
the dots are for lining up and the stuff on the back is just weighting for a smooth stroke. Evenly balanced weighting makes a huge difference in your swing.
7/6/2007 10:00:47 AM
ok but then why is the ball cradled in the back part in the second pic?
7/6/2007 10:02:08 AM
because its made so you can easily pick your ball up with it.
7/6/2007 10:03:06 AM
well alright then... thanks!*leaves thread*
7/6/2007 10:04:32 AM
its perfect for when you miss that 6 foot putt and youre too pissed to bend over and pick it up yourself.

http://www.tinyurl.com plz^http://raleigh.craigslist.org/spo/367448593.html there ya goCraigslist is awesome for golf equipment. I bought my whole set from there. You can usually deal with them some too.[Edited on July 6, 2007 at 11:08 AM. Reason : d]

I've always felt the two-ball was too heavy, maybe good for long lagging puts but just too heavy for midrange to short puts without enough feedback.I have a dfx 6600, great weight distribution and feedback, hits the ball very solid and rolls great. Definitely improved my putting, robably because I always just feel so confident with it in my hands, it feels great coming through the ball.

I'd definitely recommend any of the Odyssey putters. I have been using the same Odyssey Rossie II putter for about 9 years and I love it. I'm sure you want a newer putter but if you can find one of these around somewhere I'd get it.
7/6/2007 2:08:45 PM
^^went back to the proshop and tested those two out again. I felt just like you, the 2 ball was just way too heavy i couldn't get a good feel for the ball. so after a lot of putts and trying other brands i went with my first instinct that i got a few weeks ago and got the Odyssey White Hot XG #7I couldn't make it to the course this weekend but i've been sinking long carpet putts all weekend hahaa
7/8/2007 9:11:17 PM
I've still got an 8 year old Odyssey Rossie II that I love. The shaft is bent from when my bag fell on a cart path 5 yrs ago, but i've gotten used to it and won't switch until that club breaks.
7/8/2007 9:45:42 PM
I've been using my white hot for several years now. It's definitely served me well, can't go wrong with buying one.

Gahhhhh now my impulse buying ass wants a new lob wedge. damn this new influx of money.i think i am gonna go to golf galaxy down the street and lunch and see if they have a Wolfpack driver cover. add: My King of Diamonds cover I have is badass, but i want to wolfpack pride.[Edited on July 11, 2007 at 8:08 AM. check ebay too, when I was in greenville I found an ebay store that happened to be headquartered there (flee-golf), so instead of shipping they let me just come by and pick them up. All used stuff that was in nearly perfect condition:Full set of Taylormade RAC-HT IronsTaylormade r540xd driverTaylormade V-steel 3 wood.52 and 56 degree Taylormade RAC wedgesThe putter I previously mentionedall for around 500 bucks. Even though the stuff wasn't the latest/newest model and would have been discounted if I got it retail, I still paid about half.[Edited on July 11, 2007 at 6:44 PM. Reason : oh and a brand new bag from thegolfwarehouse. ]

the putter probably has the least affect on your game of all pieces of equipmentbuy the cheapest one you can find thats flat and practice with it until you are comfortablethats all there is to it

7/11/2007 6:47:02 PM
As far as pyschological value, it has the highest value of any club in your bag. With a new putter you like, you'll feel more comfortable.Until that POS can't make shit in two months and you're looking for another one.
7/11/2007 6:49:19 PM
felt pretty good today. only played 4 holes because of rain, but got a rain check.the greens were a little short so i left a couple longer puts short but i made a really nice 7-8 footer for par on 2 so the new putter has me a little more confident.bought that big Tuffy headcover today at Golf Galaxy. Love it
