old threads are locked...movie was ok, but not NEARLY as funny or as good as Bruce Almighty.Steve Carell was good, but not great. Entertaining though.During the opening credits I was suprised to read Jonah Hill was in the movie. (big guy from 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Super Bad, Grandma's Boy, etc) ...about 10 minutes into the movie his character is finally introduced and the movie got my first laugh. He was great in all of his scenes. To me it seemed like the first movie was a really good comedy with religious tones and this one was basically a religious movie, that had some funny parts.Wanda Sykes had some great lines, but half of her jokes didn't work that well. One thing that actually bothered me was a "recycled joke". 4 weeks ago Knocked Up came out with Jonah Hill, and there was a certain "beard" joke in it, now he is in this movie, and the same joke is used... Don't know how I feel about that.I think the funniest part of the movie might be the "Everybody dance now" montage during the credits.

I thought the funniest lines in the trailer were Wanda Sykes.. and that's saying something. They should of put some of Jonah's clips in the trailers to appeal to more people. He's not in any trailer.
