okay, i've got a VPN tunnel set up between my PC at work and my macbook at home via hamachii can ping my macbook, i can even access the samba shares on my macbook from my work PC (which is amazing to me since they're both behind NATted routers... the wonders of vpn tunneling, haha)i have itunes set to share my library on my macbook, though. i bring up itunes on my work PC, and nothing shows up.when i go to a browser or open up a telnet session to my macbook on port 3689 (the DAAP/itunes sharing port), i get a response from itunes, so i know DAAP is working. it just seems like bonjour isn't seeing my macbook over the vpn tunnel, which makes no sense to me.anyone have any ideas? i want my music.

Bonjour only works when both machines are on the same subnet. And of course it goes without saying to double check that all your software is up to date.http://forums.hamachi.cc/viewtopic.php?t=6465[Edited on June 20, 2007 at 11:16 AM. Reason : df]

yes, i know.this was the whole point of setting up a vpn tunnel - they ARE on the same subnet.

IIRC, DAAP traffic is multicast, which won't be passed in a VPN tunnel, at least by default.I've never tried to do what you're doing, so I'm not sure if there's a way around this.]]

hamachi passes multicast traffic

Shouldn't you be working at work? Make sure music sharing is turned on in iTunes. And if you can access samba, you could also just set up iTunes on your work PC to use the same library (and library file) so any changes you make on your work PC to iTunes are automatically propagated to your home PC.

do you have wireshark on your PC?sniff it and see if you're missing any expected traffic.
