this is serious guys. what is the best year that BMW has had as far as overall best model for performance/maintenance/reliability (the whole 9). im interested in getting one. i want one that looks kinda sporty i guess, but the main thing is that it is great on gas mileage, is not too hard to keep up, and relatively inexpensive (used). thank you for any serious information, i really appreciate it.

well i'll chime in on gas mileage

in my '97 328i im averaging over the past two tanks about 27MPG, and the previous owner was averaging about 24 MPG
