Less than 1 year old.
Was used to store old video projects & never saw daily usage as it was primarily for backup purposes. Runs very quietly, and looks great!

I'll have a photo up later today, but it looks similar to this, except there's a very bright blue led on the front.

external power or through USB?

i wasn't aware maxtor made USB powered 300 GB drives, i thought the biggest was 150 or 160 GB.

I bought it as an "add on" when i bought my Dell online. cause i thought i would need the extra space for what i intended.

Power through separate power cable.
