. . . damn near all of their aides' email records. White House aides' e-mail records are just plain ... gone
6/18/2007 11:10:18 PM
i'm going to go ahead and go with number 2 there Bob
6/19/2007 12:05:18 AM
combination of the 2?
6/19/2007 12:05:45 AM
just watch the e-mails appear when the heat is turned uppeople are going to fry for this
6/19/2007 12:07:06 AM
i think this rises to the level of justifying search warrants to seize the servers and perform some forensics on the hard drives.but I also wouldnt be surprised if Tony Snow then said,
6/19/2007 12:14:12 AM
if you seize their hard drives, how are they going to backup their data h0h0h0h0h[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 12:37 AM. Reason : sdf]

We were all just as upset when Hillary "lost" her Rose Law Firm records, right? I'm just checking.
6/19/2007 12:46:32 AM
^ Most of us were wee tots during that incident... I somehow don't think it was on the forefront of our concerns.

6/19/2007 12:56:32 AM
^^^http://www.google.com/search?q=rose+law+firm+recordsyep, that talking point has been effectively distributed to republicans. "If it was wrong for Hillary to do it, (during his term as PRESIDENT on a much larger scale) it's wrong for Bush to ....... Oh wait, never mind. I want it to be interpreted the other way."[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 12:59 AM. Reason : sd]

It's only ok when democrats lose their records, duh. Travelgate, filegate, whitewatergate, etc...
6/19/2007 7:10:32 AM
How about:It's not okay for any of these pretentious pricks to 'lose' their shit like this and continually abuse their power. They should be held responsible for their crimes, ALL OF THEM.Given, Bush would probably be rotting under the jail if that were the case, but I'm sure the Clinton's would be dining with Bob the butcher too.^you'd also be in jail for trying to commit fraud in a perfect world.[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 7:35 AM. 6/19/2007 7:33:32 AM
Does anyone else actually think anything will come of this? Somehow, I always get the feeling that the Dems and Repubs are in too deep with each other to really try to destroy the other side.
6/19/2007 9:26:43 AM
even small buisnesses back-up their files including email. I am sure with the budget cuts these days Bush has not had a chance to buy an extra server to back up important white house correspondence. After I am interested in the the emails between Cheney and his buddies at Haliburton. It really is amazing that even after all the scandalous shit that has gone down with this administration a lot of people still support "W and friends." From what I have heard from friends from other countries and friends who have visited other countries and talked to the locals, virtually no one likes George W. I do not see how the American public tolerates what has been going on. I think Bush replaces Reagan as the Teflon president. Even when shit does go down the blame ends up going on someone else and they resign their position. Has any president since Nixon had so many cabinet members and appointed officials resign/removed??[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 10:32 AM. Reason : l][Edited on June 19, 2007 at 10:33 AM. Reason : l]

like he's the first to get rid of some files...
6/19/2007 10:45:59 AM
I guess invasion of privacy is ok as long as its Republican email addressesI can imagine the "Bush is trampling on our rights!!11" crowd if the parties were switched
6/19/2007 10:51:57 AM
The difference is Bush is a publicly elected official.
6/19/2007 10:55:01 AM
I guess since Bush is publicly elected, all of his emails should be public...even ones dealing with classified national security issues...you know, cause he's a publically elected official
6/19/2007 10:59:02 AM
I guess since there was a law passed saying the white house had to back up all information like that, including e-mails it's okay for him to ignore the law, since it was passed before he was in office. Just like that constitution thing, it's okay for him to ignore it since it was signed before he was elected.Don't be a moron.
6/19/2007 11:05:34 AM
like i said, he's not the first to do this, and wont be the last...
6/19/2007 11:08:57 AM
^^back up "all information like that"?good thing you already know more than the investigators who said "The Bush administration may have committed "extensive" violations of a law requiring that certain records be preserved"they should really call you up to expedite this process since you clearly know more than thembut I'm being a moron for simply pointing out typical TSB partisan hypocrisy, k]
6/19/2007 11:09:18 AM
if you can read a few posts up i said put them all under the jail.but it is common sense to backup all data anyway, unless you're trying to hide something.oh waityou could make the argument that they're just incompetent, but then you'd be defending morons. you're at a little dilemma aren't you?
6/19/2007 11:12:51 AM
they're morons when its convenient for your argument, but sometimes they're really smart and secretive when thats convenient for your argumentits just odd that you already know what has happened and what should now happen when the investigators dont...i guess the investigators are morons so you're defending morons?]

6/19/2007 11:18:22 AM
6/19/2007 11:20:04 AM
first of all i'm gonna need you to point out where anyone in this issue is "ignoring the constitution"throwing phrases around like that carelessly is pretty irresponsiblethe reason its partisan is because the same people demanding for these emails are the same people that would be shitting a brick and saying "bush is taking our freedoms and privacy!" if they wanted access to democrats' emailslet alone the FACT that this is all speculation and hearsay and they are simply allegations right now, although many of you already seemed convinced they're guilty, because of your partisan views
6/19/2007 11:23:09 AM
^in this case, pretty truebut lets all conveniently ignore the missing clinton files.... that's much more fun...[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 11:26 AM. Reason : d]

6/19/2007 11:35:57 AM
So you were obviously opposed to any invasions of privacy from FISA, Patriot Act, etc...but in this case you don't care about that...yet its not a partisan issue? right...]
6/19/2007 11:39:09 AM
there's a difference between the gov't nosing into citizen's shit and citizens nosing into the government's shit.
6/19/2007 11:40:37 AM
oh without a doubt, but im talking about if democrats in office were going to have their emails confiscated or read or what have youi guess its a lot easier to tell if something is partisan/political when you're on the outside looking in]
6/19/2007 11:42:11 AM
I think all of us are in agreement that both parties should be held equally accountable despite twista saying we're all being partisan.Illegal is illegal, regardless of party, and elected officials should be held to a higher standard if they're claiming they can legislate the majority. Otherwise we just have a bullshit aristocracy which is no better than fiefdom. I mean, most of these people in office now seem to come from long lines of families with established power anyway.

^so what exactly do you know about this aside from the ALLEGATIONS so far based on a few newspaper stores? or are you just itching to bash bush for yet another thing? I already convinced HUR that he didnt know as much as he thought about the issue, considering the investigators dont have any proof yet...but some TWW troll like Blind Hate knows more than the people actually investigating this issue
6/19/2007 12:27:05 PM
Wha wha wha, you should come up with a new TreeTwista posting template, the one where 1. You don't respond directly to a point because it was so well made, it generally can't be refuted2. but instead you post some new tripe shit (^ like that) in an effort to troll3. then try to call me a troll for pointing it out, like you didn't do anything wrongthat template has gotten pretty tired.[Edited on June 19, 2007 at 12:29 PM. You know more than the investigators, you and HUR should fly to Washington and shed some light on this case
6/19/2007 12:29:59 PM
You wanna do something else other than troll this thread?
6/19/2007 12:31:57 PM

6/19/2007 12:33:06 PM
I didn't think so.
6/19/2007 12:34:46 PM
shouldnt you be catching a plane to Washington since you already know which allegations are facts? Those investigators need your help
6/19/2007 12:36:10 PM
Quit trying to troll you imbecile. I have said nothing in this thread that would allow any sane and rational person to make the statement you are making. Add something worthwhile or quite posting in this thread.
