7/1/2007 7:34:59 PM
I liked it better than The IncrediblesAND I LOVE(D) THE INCREDIBLESTHERE IS A WAY[Edited on July 1, 2007 at 7:43 PM. Reason : but please, keep judging it against other films before you've actually bothered to see it]
7/1/2007 7:36:28 PM
I saw it, and was totally not feeling it.LOL'd maybe twice. Maybe I just find no interest in movies revolving around cooking?GREAT CGI, though.
7/1/2007 8:42:43 PM
I also enjoy the Incredibles, but I'm a Toy Story 1 and 2 man myself. If it can top those movies, it will be in the running for best movie I have ever seen.
7/1/2007 11:47:31 PM
I saw it tonight and wasn't as impressed as I thought I was gonna be. I really liked the food critic character wise, but eh. It's cute, but the characters and the story wasnt as interesting as The Incredibles or the Toy Story movies (OMG TOY STORY 3 IN 2010!!). I also know that Meet the Robinsons isn't pixar, but it deserves a shout out too.
7/2/2007 12:08:02 AM
I'm worried about TS3, simply because I love TS2 so dearly as a character piece. Still, they've got the author of Little Miss Sunshine working on the screenplay, so I'm not too worried.I know in my heart that Ratatouille isn't as well-developed from a character perspective as The Incredibles is, but it feels like a more cohesive unit and I enjoyed it more. The Edna Mode character was great and entertaining, but she could've been cut out without much trouble. Now, I'm glad she's in there, because she's a hoot, but she's not really integral to the story. Every peripheral character in Ratatouille feels natural and perhaps even essential.I also feel like Brad Bird's got a complete grasp of what can be done with camera moves and the like in CGI, which he admitted he didn't have during the production of The Incredibles. There are no "look what we can do!" bullshit sequences like in Dreamworks/Fox pictures, but there are some beautiful shots and sequences that take full advantage of the "camera anywhere" ideal of CGI.
7/2/2007 2:36:21 AM
if they're making TS 3, didnt the guy who does the voice of Hamm die? maybe I'm thinking of Ernest who does slink the dog.... hmmm someone?
7/2/2007 3:11:16 AM
Jim Varney, who voiced Slinky Dog, is dead.John Ratzenberger, who voiced Hamm, is still very much alive, and has voiced a character in every Pixar feature film.
7/2/2007 3:28:39 AM
I think it was definitely better than The Incredibles, which I think is a totally forgettable movie...Not a ton of LOL'ing, but it is entertaining.
