6/13/2007 8:49:35 PM
you'd better!
6/13/2007 8:58:09 PM
who?
6/13/2007 9:06:35 PM
^hey not my fault you live under a rock
6/13/2007 9:10:31 PM
they havent been the same since Mark left for Bury Your Dead.
6/13/2007 9:15:21 PM
eh. i like Blake in BTBAM better than Mark in BTBAM. Mark did a good job tho for the record he was on. Silent Circus had its moments, it just felt so robotic and formulaic in parts. I think Blake has an extremely creative side which fits the 'messier' side like their first album and alaska. so not to say that the frogman wasnt a great guy and an outstanding drummer, i just think blake fits their overall direction better
6/13/2007 9:18:33 PM
Ryan, certainly you've got that line of text saved somewhere, and you just paste it in every BTBAM thread. This has to be the 7th time I've seen it.
6/13/2007 10:45:23 PM
i cant wait for this
6/14/2007 1:05:28 AM
what does BTBAM stand for?
6/14/2007 1:15:28 AM
Between The Buried And Mei generally dont like this kind of musicbut i fucking love BTBAM
6/14/2007 1:21:11 AM
^long time no see man
6/14/2007 10:22:47 AM
yeah, i've actually grown out of (not to be taken as a "maturity" shot) the whole metalcore type stuff, for the most part. But BTBAM's stuff is always pretty exciting, and very dynamic. they don't stick to the accepted template of simply tuning your shit down and framming on shit as loud as possible. they have a lot of beauty to their stuff--it's very musical.same reasons I really love Opeth, even though they're nothing alike.
6/14/2007 10:26:48 AM
woot i was just talking to someone about btbam yesterday thanks for the heads up
6/14/2007 4:00:15 PM
que?
6/27/2007 4:37:08 PM
^^^ yea i totally agree. all the more popular metal/hardcore these days is like prepackaged modular riffs played a few frets up or down or faster or slower and rearranged with recycled breakdowns. its sad really . no one needs 5000 as i lay dyings or atreyus or throwdowns. However, from the artist's point of view..how can you blame them for seizing the chance for easy small time success while the kids are eating it up? but there are still a handful of bands out there that have kept my heart in metal/heavy music in general, and BTBAM is one of them.im even excited to (hopefully and finally) start working harder on writing new CTA stuff. the 2 new songs our other guitarist have brought to me are..well...different. cant describe them but i absolutely loved them. they fit under the same general umbrella as our other stuff but its even farther diverged from metalcore than our current stuff is (and i like to think we arent completely cliche now as it is). anyways, very very excited to try and take our future songs in a new direction as well as hear what BTBAM does on their next record [Edited on June 27, 2007 at 5:04 PM. studio footage...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uREa-9o2ylE
7/11/2007 8:46:36 AM
yesssss. its gonna be such a solid album. i know all the super hard scene kids hate the fact that they diverge more and more from the hardcore/metalcore with each album and more into just some musical stuff but i for one love it. Its exactly what I want to hear from them really. Theyre super talented and creative guys and im glad they arent wasting that by forcing themselves to write generic metalcore albums.and i havent seen Jamie's new studio since he moved, im pretty excited to record with him again now after seeing his new stuff
7/11/2007 8:56:33 AM
my thoughts exactly, sir.

^ So... are you going to see them in Wilmington this weekend???? nevermind... I just read the rest of the thread[Edited on August 9, 2007 at 8:59 AM. Reason : oops]
8/9/2007 8:57:59 AM
man i wish. there was a point in my life where i drove alll over to see bands and support them, be it weeknight in VA or a local show on the weekend. during that time (from about summer of 2002 thru the end of 2005-shortly after Alaska came out-) I didnt miss *one* btbam show in NC for 3 straight years. That included the CD release show for all 3 albums, each one being one of the best shows ive been to.the first cd release show was one of the first metal/hardcore shows i went to, alaska was one of the best set lists theyve ever played, and the silent circus show was probably the craziest crowd ive ever seen at a metal show.sadly real life has to come in and mess that kind of stuff up most the shows im at now are for my own band.PS where the heck is the pre-order[Edited on August 9, 2007 at 9:13 AM.
