is that what Vista looks like? Can you change the appearance settings back to 'Windows Classic' like you can in XP?

Yes. You can change vista to a "classic theme" that takes the styles out.

you've been able to search from the address bar since IE4. The search bar in IE7 is added clutter

I never use the search boxes up there, but rather the quicksearch feature in opera (and also in firefox)g googlew wikipediaa acronymfindery yahoou urbandictionaryi imdb

^^i don't know, i usually don't want my search to come up in the same window i'm browsing in. nor have i used internet explorer for much for about 4 or 5 years.
