Does anyone recommend taking MAE 301 during the summer?

yea... I'd take it... Summer classes usually aren't bad.. but I never took any major classes durring summer sessions. I always took electives.

I'm taking it with Boles right now and its fine. problem sets are fairly long so I'm putting in an average of an hour a day out of class. It's my first class here, so I'm not exactly an expert, though.

I chose to take it now because all the fall sections are packed. Looks like the only fall section open is the 4:30 class with Echekki, but you could get a seat in either prof's class in summer 2 right now. The small class size of summer session is very nice.

classes in the summer are cake

i would recommend taking mae 435 in the summer to avoid the project

Yeah you can avoid the project in 435 by taking it over the summer, but I struggled enough taking that class during a regular semester. And by that I mean 4-5 hours of HW every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I had Wu for that course; would not suggest taking it over the summer. The project can actually help your grade if you wait to take it during the semester.

I took it over a summer with Roberts. He was one of my more favorite profs. He grades tough, but you will learn your shit well.

imo wu was a terrible teacher and i learned jack squat in that class besides what i could decipher on my own
