Are there any good places for a guy to get a quick, relatively cheap haircut around NCSU or downtown?I've got to make an appointment for a new guy at work and he's not from around here.

ManMur
6/11/2007 3:37:25 PM
most cheap places don't take appointments. but I second manmur

Guys usually don't make appointments at barber shops, especially at "quick, relatively cheap" places. If he doesn't need anything fancy,

I went to Man Mur one time, it was $14 which is about double what I'm used to paying.
6/11/2007 5:59:52 PM
yeah when i started going to ManMur it was only $10. Which is why i started going there instead of CostCutters. Then at some point in spring 2005 they raised prices to $12. Then this spring they raised prices to $14. wtf

my barber in Cary is at the corner of Chapel Hill Rd & Academy St, way better than ManMuror go to the Professional Barber Shop in Cameron Village, they're good
6/11/2007 8:51:44 PM
^ price?
6/11/2007 8:55:55 PM
you might as well just cut your own hair if you're going to a barber
6/11/2007 8:56:43 PM
^^^ I've seen that one in cary, it's right near where I work so I've thought of dropping in and getting a cut...on another note a lot of my co-workers get their cuts done at sport clips in cary
6/11/2007 9:40:30 PM
^^^ my barber in Cary is $12, and I think the Professional Barber Shop was $17
6/11/2007 11:19:11 PM
Professional Barber Shop or Five Points Barbershop
6/11/2007 11:50:42 PM
I like Supercuts in Cameron Village myself
6/11/2007 11:53:19 PM
Fuck any place like supercuts, greatclips, sports clips, or "what numba clippa you want!?" They will give you a shitastic haircut.
6/11/2007 11:55:22 PM
Well everybody here is recommending ManMur. Hell they don't even ask what number you want just shave it down till you're practically bald.
6/11/2007 11:56:41 PM
they always ask me what i want to do. I have had better cuts there then at Jungle Clips
6/11/2007 11:58:16 PM
I wouldn't set foot in ManMurder unless I wanted to look like a marine.
6/11/2007 11:59:41 PM
he has you making his appointments for him?man, he must have you whipped already
6/12/2007 12:05:23 AM
^^ hippie communist fratboy!Meh, Man-mur is o.k. if you like your hair short.
6/12/2007 12:39:20 AM
I usually go to Man-Mur; they do a decent enough job. But the price increase irks me. A co-worker recommended Esquire Haircutters, the shop near Golden Dragon on Hillsborough. Anyone have experience with them?
6/12/2007 1:18:47 AM
If he's in the Marines or lives in a campus dorm then Manmur/Super Cuts or any of the other aforementioned places will do just fine but you seem to imply that he has a job in which case he should probably try to look like a respectable adult, tell him to make an appointment at Sam & Bill's on Oberlin......its $35 but hell your hair is like an article of clothing that you have to wear 24 hours a day/7 days a week if you're gonna pick something to save some money on that ain't it

I bought a $14 pair of clippers, which has given me two fine haricuts since, and the more I use it the more the price per haircut will fall to nearly nothing
6/12/2007 7:58:38 PM
esquire
6/12/2007 10:44:57 PM
steve's barber shop on corporation pkwy. ftw
6/13/2007 9:07:59 AM
If you are looking for a barber shop ManMur is just fine. If you are looking for a "stylist", go to a beauty salon. [/thread]
